🌸 Community Health Awareness: Meeting with Mothers on Breastfeeding 🌸
The Department of Community Medicine invited all the mothers to an informative and engaging Meeting that was set for the on August 2, 2026, at the MCH Clinic, Community Medicine, Which started at about 10:00 AM.
This special gathering was aimed to equip mothers with reliable information, practical skills, and support to enhance successful breastfeeding. The event commenced with an introduction of mothers and the team, followed by an opening prayer and remarks from Prof. Antia-Obong and the Head of the Department of Community Medicine.

Our health specialists will share important insights through interactive presentations covering topics like an Introduction to Breastfeeding and Breast Milk Composition, the Benefits of Breastfeeding for the Baby, Mother, and Society, and demonstrations of Proper Breastfeeding Positions. They also sang a breastfeeding during the session and discussions that tackle common myths associated with breastfeeding were discussed. The program delved into the challenges faced by breastfeeding mothers and emphasize how families, healthcare providers, and communities can collaborate to strengthen support systems for breastfeeding.

Additionally, a question-and-answer segment was given to the mothers to clarify their doubts and share their own experiences. The event was wrapped up with closing remarks from the MWAN President, a vote of thanks by Prof. Afy Oku, a concluding prayer, departmental photos, music, and moments of joy.
