SC-S33/W1-Movie Diaries |Your Favorite movie of all time(The Passion of the Christ)
What does it actually feel like to walk freely when you know you are guilty? That is the exact question "The passion of the Christ" left me with. I would curate this movie 5 stars because of how impactful it is on and off production. They were reports that during set lightning struck thrice, one which hit Jim Caviezel. A whole lot happened during this set.
- Caviezel dislocated his shoulder due to the weight of the cross
- The weather during the crucifixion scene gave him lung infection and pneumonia.
- The makeup used for his swollen eyes gave him Migraines

I felt silence in the room, everyone in a corner with tears waiting to fall-off. I have never seen movie that touched both the adults and children. All the scenes were worth watching and it had people rethink their life.
The word "Passion" is actually gotten from a Latin word, "passio" Which means "Suffering", so the whole movie shows "the Suffering of Christ" which happened before his death and after, his resurrection.
Right from the betrayal scene, where Judas betrayed his master with a kiss. Most of the things that happened Jesus gave clues about it, like how Peter would deny him thrice and then the cock crows, same thing came to play.
The character's nailed each of their scene and their performance was awesome. The mockery and torture from the guards, the cheers and happiness on the faces of the people as they accepted to free barrabas, it shows how detailed the producers were to make something impactful

Explain how it impacts you ? |

Right from childhood, we have always been taught about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ in Sunday school, we knew the full story, we answered quizzes correctly from that section but did we really feel the suffering and how impactful it was? My answer is no.
It was just like studying theory in school, then going on to work without knowing the practicals. My Sunday school teacher kept a day for us, promising to bring a TV to show the movie "passion of Christ", we were very anxious and happy.
A 2hrs lengthy movie, not like the usual children behaviour while seeing a movie, we sat focused on the screen as though we were alone, the whips really felt like it was piercing through our backs, we were in the suffering with him. I totally understood what he saw, the beatings and mockery. I can tell, almost everyone in the hall had tears rolling down.
How would someone who is innocent, get a treatment like that. He was nailed on a cross, every hit on the hand felt like I was the one, I pressed on to my palms again, having an imagination on how a long nail would pass through.
Come to think of it, how would the full weight of your body react to being suspended by your hands only. The muscles on the hand would probably get worn out, and your body would drop down pinning the whole weight on your point of puncture and the nail.
The impact this movie had was divine, after the movie we were just silent, everyone glued to their chair. Questions kept running, then a moment of recovery. Why would someone pass through all these to pay for my sin then I would still go back to that sin. Talking of impact, there's no greater impact than than, the movie made us realise what Christ did for us.
What was your best scene |

At first I disliked barrabas, the happiness that was on his face when the people chose him over Jesus. I would say the corruption was super high then, why would they even bring a top criminal, a guilty person then keep him beside an innocent person giving the crowd the choice to release one of them.
I was always pissed until I discovered something from the scene. We are Barrabas, we are guilty and we have sinned as the verse in Romans 3..23 says "we have all sinned and fallen short from the glory of God", the next verse talks about gaining redemption through Jesus Christ.
So Jesus was a substitute for Barrabas (Us), so that we may regain our freedom and redemption. I never knew I was Barrabas, I was just hating on my self. This scene holds a strong message, the guilt and relieve on the face of Barrabas as he turned to Jesus, and the look on Jesus face just brought out a whole lot of emotions to this scene.
I so much love this movie and I would recommend it to anyone.
I would love to invite @precious9, @us-andrew and @promisezella to take part

Saludos.
It was such a wonderful movie.
Yes , but i think it just seemed like we didn't understand what he passed through till we watched. Thank you for commenting.
