SC-S31W2-Movie Magic Movies that redefines Success (add name of the movie).jpg

Whenever I think of a movie that speaks of success beyond money and fame, the movie that comes to mind is the movie Lagaan. Lagaan is a movie that has made history in the world of Hindi cinema. The movie is called a great poetic movie. Now I will briefly present the movie Lagaan-
Lagaan, which means land tax. The year is 1893, the last period of British colonial rule in India, the story of the movie begins with the residents of a village in central India during this time, the farmers of the village of Champan, under the British Central India Agency, live under an oppressive and racist regime. Despite the irregularities in the crops due to poverty and drought, they pay land tax. But they did not have the ability to bear the burden of the tax. Unable to bear the burden, they petitioned Raja Puran Singh for relief from the tax. The king was watching a cricket match between British officers. Later, when he meets the villagers, Captain Andrew Russell of the regiment proposes a cricket match against his team. The proposal is that if the villagers win, they will be exempt from taxes for three years, and if they lose, they will have to pay three times the normal tax. Despite the disapproval of everyone in the village,

A young and determined farmer named Bhuvan accepts Russell's bet. But no one in the village, including Bhuvan, knows how to play cricket. This turns everyone against Bhavan. But Bhuvan is not willing to accept defeat; he prepares for the game. With great difficulty, he convinces a few people to play, but they also do not know how to play. Suddenly, Russell's sister Elizabeth, who has recently come here from England, has a soft heart and loves to treat everyone with love. One day, Bhuvan and his team are practicing, and he sees it and is very sorry because the Bhuvans do not understand anything.
Elizabeth offered to train the Bhuvans to play against her brother. At first, Bhuvan and his team could not believe it. Then, at the appointed time, Elizabeth secretly came to train them. Bhuvan's team started training. When the villagers saw an Englishman helping them, they got courage and started training in a joyful atmosphere.
The appointed time for the game approached. The Bhuvans were now ready to play. Her brother did not know about Elizabeth's training. Now, the unknown fact was revealed to Russell that a man in Bhuvan's team did not like Bhuvan. Bhuvan's loss meant that he would win against his trust. Russell got angry with Elizabeth and stopped leaving the house.

Iconic hattrick scene

The game started at the appointed time. Russell's team had experienced players. And Bhuvan's team had 11 people like farmers, carpenters, blacksmiths, etc., who had just been trained.
But Bhuvan's team had an unquenchable desire to get a waiver, and they started playing with that desire. An inexperienced team competed with a skilled cricket team.
Meanwhile, Russell was reprimanded by his superiors for gambling with the regiment's treasury and was told that if the British team lost the match, disciplinary action would be taken against him.

A short video of the great movie Lagaan

The three-day match ended with various conspiracies, tireless work, strong morale, and a burning desire to win. Like a fighter, Bhuvan stood firm, bowling, fielding, and batting in the face of hundreds of adversities. His behavior was like that of an experienced captain. Finally, Bhuvan's team won the game. The British government exempted the Indians from taxes for three years as per the agreement with Russell. And Russell was expelled from that area for taking such an important step without permission. The people of Champan village rejoiced in the joy of victory, celebrating Bhuvan.

How did the movie define success?

The movie Lagaan is a success story where hard work is never in vain; the fruits of hard work are always sweet.
It is a story of teamwork that reminds us of the old saying, "Unity is strength." The uneducated farmers of Champan village have shown that if they are united, even mountain-sized obstacles can be easily solved, so in the movie, the jealous Englishman Russell's team, despite being experienced, loses to Bhuvan's inexperienced team on the cricket field due to unity, sincerity, and courage. Bhuvan's team returns home with success. This is the success inside the movie.

Beautiful moment of lagaan movie

Now let's see how the immortal movie Lagaan became successful. The budget for making the movie was ₹250 million. That movie grossed ₹659.7 million. Which is a picture of success. The crew of the movie has received a lot of respect, love, and recognition. The film was the third-highest-grossing Hindi film of 2001. Lagaan was screened at numerous international film festivals and won several awards. It was the third film to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, after Mother India (1957) and Salaam Bombay! (1988). Lagaan became the most awarded film at the 47th Filmfare Awards, winning eight awards.
The film was a milestone in Hindi cinema.

Successful movie Lagaan

Which character had a life you admired most?

Lagaan is a film where every artist has given their all. Watching the film, it is as if they are not acting but really fighting against the British, who ruled the Indian subcontinent for 200 years. Everyone's performance was extraordinary. Among them, Bhuvan's performance was unparalleled.
Bhuvan played the lead role in this film. In the village of Champan, on one hand, there was the suffering of the villagers due to drought, and on the other hand, there was pressure from the British to collect taxes. When the British regiment proposed to organize a cricket match to humiliate the villagers, Bhuvan accepted it. He was confident that if he tried, they too would win. I like this confidence of his.
While moving forward in life, we face such problems that it seems impossible for us to do this work. We give up. But Bhuvan did not give up, he has faced defeat again and again, and again, he has jumped up from there with new enthusiasm to implement his promise. This morale and strong determination of his attract me a lot.

What lesson about success did you take away?

We all know that if we work hard, we will succeed. But we do not know how much effort we will have to put in. The movie Lagaan has shown us in a realistic way how much effort we have to put in to achieve success. It has shown that-
To achieve success, a strong commitment is needed, relentless efforts are needed to implement it, and there must be unity.
Cricket is a game with specific rules. It was impossible for the farmers of the village to compete with a team of skilled cricketers by practicing these rules, but the world team has made that impossible possible.

Hard work is the key to success.

Here, it has been shown how to achieve success by keeping yourself in good shape despite the adverse environment. How much inhuman work has to be endured for success.
I think everyone who is struggling like me should watch the movie Lagaan at least once. Then maybe we will be able to realize what we need to do to achieve success. And that is the lesson I got from the movie Lagaan.

I invite three of my friends to join the challange

Saludos.

Welcome to Steemit challenge season 31| movie Magic week2

Good movie selection! Lagaan!
You have actually given too much out about the movie leaving out the place of suspense for those who had interest to watch the movie. Suspense is crucial part of movie review.

Am glad to see this movie defining success different from the regular money and fame!

Your lessons are valid. Your make down seems not to be so alright!
