English Vinglish is a family/comedy movie but I better introduce as drama movie. This is the story of a simple housewife who struggled to improve her English even when had several obstacles from family and society and not much encouraged by anyone of her own.

No one was there to support her interest on self improvement and she became her own motivator. This movie taught me that self help is the best and we need to find the inner strength that sleeping inside us.

Before start answering key points of this inner strength theme based movie scenery, I want to summarize the lead character and story briefly. This is the story of a soft-spoken Indian housewife and entrepreneur name Shashi Godbole (Played by talented actress Sridevi).

Shashi often found mocked by her family for her poor English skills. While she was visiting New York, she enrolls in a 4-week English crash course, and that was the turning point of her life, she started gaining confidence, self-respect, and new friends.

This movie follows a timid housewife's transformative journey to empowerment, as she gains her family's respect and masters on English language that felt tough to her before learning it with full dedication.

Let's now talk about the theme of this movie that indicate inner strength,

What or whose inner struggle stood out the most for you in the movie?

Definitely the leading role of this movie Shashi stood out the most to me for her inner strength in this movie. Beside her there was some character that helped Shashi in her journey but here Shashi's character got the spotlight so she caught my eyes more than the other characters in this movie

Which moment showed real strength and why?

Yup, there was a scene in this movie I can still remember where Shashi was attending a Wedding ceremony with her family in New York and she wanted to say something to give blessing to the newly wedded couple. Her husband stopped her to avoid public embarrassment because of her poor English.

But Shashi was confident to speak for the couple and when she spoke English fluently his husband was guilty as he tried to stopped her to speak. Everyone in the function clapped on her speech and it showed her real strength and she was unstoppable. I liked the moment very much as she proved herself that she can and that's the reason I find her real strength on this scene.

How did the character change by the end?

The journey wasn't smooth for Shashi as she faced different kinds of obstacles, pressure from both family, relatives and society. On the learning process of English she experienced difficulties but she didn't gave up. She didn't care what others think and how people judge her passion of learning something new and it's English language.

She overcome all the obstacles and improved her English successfully and this change made her confident, she earned respect from her family and relatives. She proved herself that she can do it and she is not weak. Her change at the end surprised everyone and definitely got claps of audiences. At the end she was confident, fluent in English, got more friends, got respect from husband, children and all family members.

English is the second language of many foreign countries and this language is important for global communication. There are many countries that add English learning compulsory in schools and colleges and this can be great for the future of students.

Shashi somehow missed learning English in her school or educational institute and when she understand the value of learning English, she didn't make any excuse to give up and showed her strength to prove herself that she can. This is not only movie but also the story of all the strong women in our society who found out their inner strength to prove themselves. Respect and honor to all women who are strong by having the inner strength. This is definitely a motivational story that can motivate many housewives in our society like Shashi.
