SC-S31/W4-Movie Magic |Movies that challenge society: "Time to Kill"

Hello my dear Steemians,
I am pretty sure that there are many good movies about such situations in life when something unfair happens and had not been punished. Those movies need very good story, script, good actors who can transmit the whole emotional part of the story and also the producers need to pay attention to the way how to present that.
For me when I think about the movie about injustice I always recall that wonderful work based on John Grisham’s novel with the same name “Time to Kill”. When I saw the name I thought it is simple crime movie, but after starting to watch and seeing very famous actors Sandra Bullock, Samuel L. Jackson, Matthew McConaughey and Kevin Spacey.
The story is about a small town where in countryside lived a happy family in small black community. Once when a young girl was on the way home after shopping she was then abducted by white men and raped her, then tried to drown her and after that tried to hang her, but the girl survived. The girl survived but suffered both physical and mental trauma.
The family was devastated and father also contacted a white lawyer who helped his brother and asked if the white men will received appropriate punishment. The lawyer answered that likely they may not received deserved punishment for their act. After that the father after the process rushed into the hall and with automated weapon killed those two rapists but also wounded a policeman so that his leg needed to be amputated.
After that the father of a girl was taken in custody and his process started.
In the movie the story is in America, in some areas of America, it is that time but also occasionally nowadays it is obvious that there is a big conflict between white and black population. It is automatically considered that white people tell truth and do right things. In South part of America, it is often people of colour considered to be criminal and also those people will have less changes to get good work place. In the movie it is obvious that when the father punished the rapists of his daughter he is being charged as a killer without paying attention to the reason why it happened. Only at the end when the lawyer told to the Jury that they should imagine that the girl is white, only then the jury change their mind in their verdict.
When we see modern society there are many different nationality communities and because of that we all have to be tolerant and treat everyone equally. In UK it is very strict if someone noticed any unfair treatment then it is stopped immediately and also the person who is treating others unfair will have a warning and good conversation with their chiefs. Only if there are some regulations, some laws then people will be following the rules.
The topic of equality and tolerance is very important nowadays because we see now once again the situation in America, since Trump is again at power, there are many rights of people of colour are restricted everywhere, no matter if it is school, Universities, any areas of life. It is not only black people but also Mexican, native Americans, anyone except white and that is what Trump is telling loud and his Republican party is keeping silence. I think it is can be seen anywhere, but maybe less in open way but it is fact that there is a major problem for us, human.
If anyone interested in topic please join, I am inviting @simonnwigwe, @hjrrodriguez and @lirvic

You know, while reading this, I cringed a couple of times. Mostly out of disgust at the behaviours some individuals exhibit.
A part of me remind me that it's a movie. But then, reality check reminded me that these things happen in real life as well.
There's nothing that destroys humanity like crimes against persons and discrimination.
Thankfully, there are laws that prohibit these acts in some societies. Although we can't say it's applicable to all. Because sometimes they are ingrained into the veins through religious and cultural practices. Sad that the father who tried to get justice for his child ended up being punished while the perpetuators of the first gruesome act walked about freely.
I hope a time will come when everyone will love themselves equally and treat others the way they want to be treated regardless of age, gender, melanin proportion or status.

Hi @ukpono, thank youf or reading. I agree when I saw hte movie it felt very real, I am pretty sure thatt he story was based on real events, hte only I am not sure if in reality it is the same happy end, maybe not. We all know that reality is unfair and cruel, so people have to think about others and support where they can.
