Hello my dear Steemians,

 

When I read the topic of the challenge I wanted to share the movie that I watched while I was in school and our music teacher presented the movie during our one lessons.

 

Watch a movie that speaks of Courage and resilience

 

For this challenge I watched again the movie “The Chorus” that was filmed in 2004 and it was again a pleasure to watched it because this one has a lot to think about and sometimes to find ourselves in the movie, our character, maybe our attitude.

I think in the movie we see and the teacher Mr Mathieu who arrives to a small French place and was going to teach music in a French boarding school for boys. The boys there live and study parents only come on certain visiting days. That is why it is easy to feel that emptiness in those children and Mr Mathieu has made his goal to bring the music and singing in the life of these children to re-unite them with one beautiful common interest it is love to music.

 

What or whose inner struggle stood out the most for you in the movie?

 

For me the inner strength of Mr Mathieu is definitely stand out during the whole movie. You can imagine how it is hard to see these young children who separated from their families or those who do not have their families because the parents might have passed away. That is why for the music teacher it was hard to be strict teacher but also to be kind and supportive friend for the children.

While he decided to create the chorus he wanted the children to find their hobby in beauty of music and to also be able to experience the feeling of happiness and also that chorus would then re-unite these children with one hobby.

 

Which moment showed real strength and why?

 

The real strength of a music teacher was to find an appropriate approach to all children, to all different character people but also the fact that with a lot of patience and hard work Mr Mathieu managed to gain the respect and love of his children. Even at the end when there was a fire in school he has taken responsibility for himself and left school, just so that nobody of children is punished for that.

 

How did the character change by the end?

 

At the end when Mr. Mathieu was leaving the school, the little boy from the school who really felt very attached to the music teacher, run behind him ans asked him to take him with himself. Even being a strong character, his heart could not stand that and he has taken the little boy with him, the boy lost his both parents during the Second World War. That is also another reason why the teacher did not want the boy to loose one more time a person who was attached to him.
