The first time I had lunch with the Regent of North Aceh at the same table in Banda Aceh, July 31, 2026

In this video, my friends and I met with the Regent of North Aceh, H. Ismail A. Jalil, S.E., MM, and his staff. Our first meeting took place at the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque in Banda Aceh, after which his staff invited us to lunch—an offer we couldn’t refuse since we hadn’t eaten yet. They then took us to a local eatery in Banda Aceh, specifically in Lam Baro. There, we were invited to enjoy lunch together.

The atmosphere at the time was very formal; to be honest, this was the first time we’d ever had the chance to share a meal at the same table with an official like the regent. “It feels like a dream,” one of our friends remarked at the time.

In the video, several staff members and the regent were chatting happily after finishing their meal. The spread on the table was very extensive, ranging from traditional Acehnese dishes to fried chicken, with drinks neatly arranged on the table. They encouraged us to finish everything, since they would cover the bill.

We were thrilled—when else would we get to eat for free until we were full? I took advantage of the time to record some footage to turn into a cinematic video. I compiled and edited the footage using the CapCut app on my iPhone. After lunch, we hurriedly said our goodbyes to head back to North Aceh.

After saying our goodbyes, we headed straight home. My friends and I went back to our lodging to pack our things, then headed home right away. That’s my short write-up and video. Thank you....
