After graduation, she was seriously crying over our parting.

A teacher's duty is to educate students in all areas of life. But one isn't just a teacher, but a mother to these children. I resumed in my present place of work last year and I became very close to one of the students. I took her as my student, daughter, sister and friend. Though I treated others the same way, but she was extremely close.

I was happy she was finally graduating because this meant she was going to greater heights, but we knew it was gonna be a sad day. In literature, it is said that, "Parting is such sweet sorrow". The D-Day cane which was graduation. I tried avoiding her so as not to cry but immediately after graduation, she was already in tears and cane hugging me to say her final goodbye and that was when the flood of years flowed. I was forcing myself to smile in this pix but deep down, I was crying over her parting but my happiness was that she was moving to the university.

We had to the another picture after she became a little bit composed.

After we had parted for the day, she sent me a heartfelt message which brought more tears to my eyes. A little part of the message reads:

Ma, you have been my favorite teacher, my best teacher, my sister, my best friend, my second mother, and someone very special to my heart. I honestly don't even know which word is enough to describe you because “teacher” alone doesn't explain what you have been to me.

You didn't just teach me in the classroom. You taught me about life. You listened to me. You tolerated me. You corrected me. You encouraged me. You laughed with me. You gave me your time. You allowed me to be myself around you, and you made me feel loved and accepted.

Thank you, Ma. ❤️

This really made me smile. I have been privileged to get close to some of my teachers during my school days and I must say, that was an opportunity that help me see and understood things differently. Thank you for extending such love to her. Those were amazing pictures and. Congratulations to the graduates
