Policies serve as a set of rules that guide decision making. It is made to set things in motion, making it clear what needs to be done.
Policies are the reason for change and effectiveness.
But most people do not know what policy entails, especially the masses.
They hear of the policy, they quickly call it "the new policy".
But the content is not their major concern.
Adopted policy should be read and looked into because it is meant for the benefit of all.
Influential people in the society try to influence the policy because if it falls into the advantage, they gain upper hand.
No one can go against the policy, once adopted it becomes the law and you shouldn't break the law.
This is why we should uphold good policies, not for selfish gain but for the advancement of our society.
Unfortunately it doesn't work that way. If those who reign forbid the opposition, a different voice there's no democracy let alone a government chosen by the people.
It's funny how the government we have now are afraid of opposition, a little sign of opposition and they are planning to shut it down. Feedback is a good way to measure your progress.
They soon create policy that negates opposition.

Funny and interesting that is indeed the only problem is the crowd accepts this behaviour. The government are the employee ls of the people not the other way round.
