True, sometimes I think that trying to understand what the artist meant to express is a waste of time, because everyone interprets it from their own experiences, culture, and knowledge, I believe.
Or it is made up by the critic.

That too. Often, fame is achieved through good reviews, even if there are better artists. Anyway, I try not to follow trends, in anything, but we're inundated with them.
