It is not just a refueling point, but an integral part of the transportation system of Tongi and the surrounding areas of Dhaka. Being located next to the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway, its geographical importance is immense. Every day, hundreds of vehicles collect their required fuel from here and travel to their destinations. This filling station is a very reliable name for drivers of long-distance buses, trucks, motorcycles, microbuses and private cars. It is a place of comfort, especially for those who travel long routes. Not only for vehicles, but this station has also been playing an important role in meeting the fuel needs of irrigation pumps used for agricultural purposes or home generators.

√ What type of service location did you visit? Briefly describe it.

I visited Enviro CNG Filling Station Limited located in Tongi Bazar near Dhaka. It is a modern fuel supply center that provides 24-hour uninterrupted service for refilling vehicles with petrol, octane, diesel and CNG, as well as safe gas cylinder testing.

Even in these challenging times of the current global energy crisis, every employee at Enviro CNG Filling Station is providing service with great patience and sincerity. I have personally observed that they speak very politely to every customer and ensure prompt fuel supply, which is truly commendable. Despite the constant rush of vehicles on this busiest highway, there is no shortage of professionalism among the employees.

✔Type of work & Workers’ lifestyle

Another notable aspect of the station is the discipline of the staff. Each staff here wears a specific dress code or uniform, due to which they can be easily identified even in a crowd. This disciplined environment and the dress up of the staff have greatly increased the quality of the station. Since it is open 24 hours a day, drivers do not have to worry about fuel. The working hours of the staff have been fixed at 8 hours. Therefore, they are providing service to every customer with a smile. They operate 24 hours a day in three shifts of 8 hours each.The workers here get extra remuneration if they work overtime as per the directives of Bangladesh Co-Ministry. Despite being located in one of the most populated areas of Gazipur, they have been operating their business and services with great reputation for years.

One of the main features of the pump is its excellent cleanliness. While petrol pumps are usually a bit untidy, this station is an exception. However, the impact of the fuel crisis can be seen here too from time to time. Although the station currently has sufficient diesel, the supply of octane and petrol is temporarily suspended. The authorities have said that petrol and octane supply will resume after the arrival of the oil tanker this evening. Despite the adversities, their discipline and orderly management are the best.

Enviro CNG filling station has a high-quality refill system for CNG-powered vehicles along with fuel oil. However, the authorities here do not end their duty by just supplying gas, but also have a good system to test the cylinders used in CNG for the sake of public safety. While refilling gas, the pump authorities always give strict instructions so that the driver and passengers stay outside the vehicle. Since CNG is a highly flammable gas, their precautionary measures and regular supervision to avoid any major accidents are really commendable.

The fuel storage system of Enviro CNG Filling Station is very modern and well-planned. The station's huge fuel storage tanks have been placed underground with great importance. The blue colored strong metal lids act as the entrance to these underground tanks. Keeping in mind the security, the entire area has been separated with red brick boundaries and wire fences, so that no one can enter there. In addition, they have quality fuel and business partnerships with world-renowned brands like Meghna Petroleum Limited and BP. This scientific method of storing fuel underground reduces the risk of fire and helps maintain the balance of the environment.

In the current global situation, Enviro CNG Filling Station is strictly following all the instructions of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) to ensure proper use of fuel oil. According to the government notification posted at the pump, currently, the daily amount of oil has been specified for each vehicle. For example, a maximum of 2 liters for motorcycles, 10 liters for private cars, and 200 to 220 liters of diesel or octane have been allocated for large trucks or buses. In addition, cash memos or previous purchase receipts are being ensured for collecting oil. This awareness and cooperation of Enviro Filling Station authorities and general customers is really a positive aspect to make this timely step of the government to resolve the fuel crisis and prevent wastage of oil a success.
