What changes have you observed in the educational infrastructure in your community in recent months?
There have been a lot of changes in the educational infrastructure in my community in recent months. Recently, there has been development of more infrastructure at the University of Lafia, where the school is building more lecture halls, offices, and comfortable places where students can stay safe in the institution.
Laptops and printers were being distributed to Heads of Department (HOD) and some senior lecturers for them to keep records of students' activities.
What initiatives have been promoted to improve inclusion and equity in student admissions at educational institutions in your community?
It is online screening where intended students are allowed to submit their documents online rather than going to the school or writing an entrance examination.
This online screening is currently the best, as the school management uses this means to screen out unqualified students who don't meet the admission requirements. Once a student is given admission, the student can then go for registration in his or her department.
What are the graduation plans for this year’s students? What have the graduation celebrations been like in your region?
Just last month, the school held graduation, and I was part of those who graduated from the school. A lot of things about graduation celebrations have changed in the school, unlike before, when graduating students would be seen pouring water on themselves, driving cars and motorcycles anyhow in the school, and dressing anyhow they liked.
Today, things have changed, and the school management only allows small gatherings of people with loved ones and friends and taking pictures.
How has technology impacted teaching practices at local schools? Are there online classes?
Technology has really impacted teaching practices in the school in some departments. It has improved students' learning and limited gathering in school, which is why a lot of students are now preferring online classes to offline classes. MSc students are into online classes, which they see as the most convenient way to balance studies with work.
Has the study of the cryptocurrency market been integrated into education in your region or community? How have students responded to this topic?
The study of the cryptocurrency market hasn't been integrated into education in my region, but blockchain as a technology has been integrated in my region. Like in my department and my own course in accounting, some topics involve blockchain technology where the cryptocurrency market is being mentioned during lecture.

The Federal University of Lafia is a very big school that is well developed with a good structure. In the school, there is a water channel to stop flooding of water especially in this rainy season.
The environmental challenge in the school is bushes and trees in the school which can attract snakes and other dangerous animals to the school, which is harmful to students.

First of all, congratulations on graduating! These recent changes at the University of Lafia are quite meaningful. The speed with which the department heads and teachers have been able to maintain all the administrative records of the students is a great testament to the structural changes in the education system. The introduction of a rule to stop reckless behavior or chaos during the convocation ceremony and to take photos with family and friends in a moderate environment has also refined the atmosphere of the educational institution. In addition, the decision to include the concept of blockchain technology in the accounting course will help students adapt to the modern world. However, in my opinion, along with an excellent drainage system on the campus, regular trimming of dense bushes is equally important. During the rainy season, it becomes difficult for students to move around due to the risk of poisonous animals, so if the authorities pay attention to this safety issue soon, the environment will be safer.
