SLC31-W2 || Our Surroundings - A Series of Real Life Experiences: Pharmacy & Hospital
Greetings from Mohammad Sumon!
How are you all friends? Hope you all are well. I am doing very well with all your prayers and the infinite mercy of the great Allah.
I am posting on this platform after a long time (I was away from this platform due to family issues). However, I am participating in the ongoing SLC31-W2 contest. Our surroundings: A series of real-life experiences: Pharmacy and Hospital. Thank you, @adeljose & @kibreay001 for organizing a wonderful contest. I am delighted to participate in this contest and share my experience. I have tried to answer all the questions in the contest through this post.
My wife has been feeling unwell (extreme pain in her right hand and right leg) for the past few days. The type of pain she has is a little different—burning, i.e., it stings or bites her hands and feet. There is also some pain in her shoulder. Also, if she gets a little cold or walks for a while, her hands and feet sting and bite her. At one point, it even developed into chest pain.
However, I planned to take her to the hospital later this Thursday evening.

The nearest to our house was the Islami Bank Hospital, Mirpur-11, Dhaka. I often go there to see a doctor for various problems. Personally, I like this hospital very much because the environment is modern and very clean, and I like the service of everyone, including the efficient doctors, nurses, and staff. Their service is running 7 days a week and 24 hours a day (they have an emergency department and ambulance service).
Hospital experience and treatment process: |

We reached there in a short time. It was very hot outside, so as soon as we entered the hospital, our hearts were warmed up. My daughter was telling me, Dad, I like it inside a lot.
1. Ticketing: To be shown to the emergency department, I had to buy a ticket for BDT 150, but when I went to the counter, I saw an elder brother I knew working here, and through him, I collected a ticket for BDT 50 at a discount. It was nice to meet my elder brother after a long time.
2. Initial examination: After going to the emergency department, the doctor called my wife as per the serial, and my child and I were with me. Basically, there is a medical officer and a specialist in the emergency. The medical officer, first of all, found out the problems and also checked the blood pressure, which was 140/90 (which is slightly higher than normal). Knowing all the details, he referred my wife to a medicine specialist according to her problem.
3. Expert Consultation: The medicine specialist is Dr. Rozina Sultana. She greeted us nicely and listened to us in detail. The doctor gave some advice according to the problem, mentioned some tests to be done, and prescribed some medicines for now, so that we can get relief from the pain.

After knowing the total cost of getting the tests done and buying the medicines from the pharmacy, we went home because we did not have enough money with us and would do the tests the next day. After coming home and taking the medicines, my wife felt a little better at night.
On Friday (April 24) evening, we went to the hospital again and got the tests done. The total cost was BDT 1459 (Steem: 203.77) after taking the discount (using the elder brother's reference).
Dr. Rozina Sultana, madam, sees patients every day except Friday from 7 pm to 9.30 pm. So we will show her the test reports again on Saturday. On Saturday, I woke up at 8.30 am and called the hospital's designated number to give the serial and gave it.
Second visit and doctor's advice: |

(Saturday, April 25) I greeted the doctor and entered the chamber. After checking the test reports, Madam gave some important advice and prescribed some new medicines. Alhamdulillah, her behavior and attitude were excellent. I think that a patient's disease gets cured by 50% through the doctor's kind words. As per the hospital's rules, there was no charge to show the report within a week. Overall, my experience in this hospital was quite good.
More about the hospital: |

They have their own cardiac centre, operating theatre, diagnostic lab, specialized department, and emergency department. Anyone can book an appointment to see any doctor here (from 8 am to 6 pm).
My choice is Islami Bank Hospital, Mirpur-11, Dhaka for its modern technology, low cost, good transportation system, and good quality treatment with discount facilities.
