Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Today, I have come to participate in the fifth week’s contest of Steemit Challenge Season 33 Week 5 - "Beyond the Map: The Living Heritage. Our dear brother @sohanurrahman always presents very easy, smooth, and beautiful contests. I want to start by thanking him from the bottom of my heart, focusing today’s review on participating in today’s contest.

Main area leading to the market

Every region in Indonesia including the beloved province of Aceh has hubs for community economic activity where the daily trade of goods and services takes place. Markets are among these hubs, offering easy access to the daily necessities required by the local population. In Lhokseumawe City, Aceh where I reside there is one of the largest markets serving as a center for the trade of goods and services. Transactions here occur ceaselessly every day, from early morning until midday.

Traditional markets play a vital role in connecting local producers who bring the bounty of the sea, orchards, and farms with buyers from Lhokseumawe City and the surrounding areas. Pasar Inpres Lhokseumawe has existed since 1970, providing a wide range of essentials for the community. Offerings include vegetables, kitchen spices, various types of fish, shrimp, squid, chicken, and beef. Other available items range from fruits, clothing, and electronics to household goods and a variety of other necessities.

Assorted merchandise

This market, which is busiest from morning until midday, occupies a spacious area. The market grounds are divided into specific sales zones, ranging from sections for fish and meat, vegetables, and staple foods to areas dedicated to clothing, electronics, and fruit. Situated in the heart of the city, the market is easily accessible from various directions. This expansive complex is located on Jalan Listrik, Tumpok Teungoh Village, Banda Sakti District, Lhokseumawe City, Aceh Province.

This market is directly managed by the Lhokseumawe City Government under the Department of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises). As with food and commodity prices nationwide, prices at local markets constantly fluctuate, driven by the dynamics of both national and international markets. Consequently, prices at the Lhokseumawe City Inpres Market are influenced by these factors, as well as by the output of local producers.

The atmosphere in a corner of the market

The Lhokseumawe City Inpres Market is the city's largest traditional market, attracting hundreds of visitors daily. Hundreds of vendors offer and sell their goods using traditional, manual methods. The market also employs hundreds of workers who provide transport services for people and goods, as well as parking attendants who manage the parking facilities. The parking area is divided into several sections, making it convenient for visitors to park their vehicles.

Fish and meat market area

This setup creates a quintessential traditional market atmosphere for visitors. During the morning and into the midday hours, traffic congestion is frequently observed at the market's exit. Public facilities, such as a prayer room (mushola) and public restrooms, are available in the central area of the market. Like many traditional markets, the Lhokseumawe City Inpres Market can appear somewhat untidy; nevertheless, I and other Lhokseumawe residents shop there regularly.
