SLC-S33/W5 | Beyond the Map : The Living Heritage
Assalamu Alaikum/Adab my friend of Story On Steem community, I am @kibreay001 speaking from Bangladesh
Hello all my steemit friends, I hope you are all doing well. Today I am going to share with you that on the occasion of steemit challenge season 33 week 5, @pea07 & @sohanurrahman have organized a wonderful competition. To participate in their shared competition, I collected some photographs of a vegetable shop from the wholesale vegetable market shop in our area yesterday with my mobile camera. Today I will discuss some things with you about the wholesale vegetable shop. I have come to you to share details about Akbar Bhai's vegetable shop from this historical wholesale vegetable market in our area. In fact, here every morning, farmers bring their raw vegetables from the field to the market and sell them at wholesale prices, so let's share more details with you.
Where is this place located, how can visitors reach it, and when did you visit it?

The vegetable shop that I have shared with you today is owned by a brother. This shop is basically a wholesale vegetable shop. Every day in the morning, visitors come here to sell vegetables from every farmer and sell them at wholesale prices. After seeing those vegetables, they go to different places. Visitors can bring any vehicle because there are many big and small vehicles plying here all the time. This is basically Akbar Bhai's vegetable wholesale shop in Khalisha Kundi Bazar. This shop is known to every person. The shop sells various types of raw vegetables, starting from onions and garlic. You can see this by looking at the pictures above.
What tradition, craft, occupation, food culture, or community practice makes this place culturally significant?

Khalisha Kundi Market is currently identified as a historical market in our area because here farmers regularly pick up raw vegetables from their own land and sell them in bulk to various shops. In the morning, when I went to pick up the vegetables from our land and sell them, I collected these pictures to participate in the competition today. This raw market has a large number of vegetables. If you look at the entire view of the shop, you will see that all kinds of vegetables are sold in the shop, starting from raw chili to food. There was an accountant in the shop, who kept a very good account of all the goods, which I liked very much. For this reason, through the current shops in Khalisha Kundi Market, Kalisha Kundi Raw Market is considered historical to the people.
How has this heritage been preserved and passed from one generation to another?

Khalisha Kundi raw vegetable markets are currently very well secured. There is a security guard in the market through the market committee. He constantly keeps the market safe from evening and some workers work there every morning for cleanliness in the market. Overall, security is provided through very good cleanliness within the budget. In fact, the businesses here have survived for generations, only the father's business is looked after by the seal and the son's business is looked after by his son. In this way, the businesses are moving forward hand in hand from generation to generation. I think if the sons always follow the path shown by the father, it is very easy to achieve success. It has become known in our area as a historical vegetable market.
How does this living heritage contribute to the local community or economy today?
The Khalisa Kundi vegetable market will play a big role in the economy of the people of our area because when people go to the market to sell various types of green vegetables from their agricultural land every morning, they can easily sell them in the market and earn money. I think this kind of market should be in every agricultural area because Bangladesh is an agriculturally dependent country. Starting from golden crops, various types of crops are produced in this country. Therefore, it is very necessary for the people of this country to have such a wholesale price vegetable market in every village or neighborhood for selling their crops. Only then will people from every village be able to play a big role in the economy of the area. Is this vegetable market in our area playing a big role in the economy of the area and is the main vegetable market being used as the main driving force?
What can visitors see, learn, or experience here that helps them understand the local culture and heritage?

I think that visitors who want to visit the vegetable market can gain many kinds of experience from there. Every farmer here goes to sell vegetables every day and different vegetables are bought there in different shops. There are some sections of vegetables here. Where I went to sell vegetables, only green vegetables are bought. I sold our own potal in that shop and I am trying to share some experience from there. Every farmer goes to the shop to sell vegetables and the price of each vegetable is determined by the shop owner. If the seller does not like it there, then he can take the vegetables somewhere else and sell them. In this way, basically the visitors can gain many kinds of experience from there. The vegetables are sold there in cash. Overall, the visitors can gain a wonderful experience.
What challenges could threaten this heritage, and what can be done to help preserve it for future generations?

Today I visited Akbar Bhai's vegetable shop from Khalisha Kundi vegetable market and shared it with you. To save this vegetable market for our future generations, we have to call on all the people of the present time to come to the vegetable market and we have to call on every person to do agricultural work because if the farmers do not grow vegetable crops in the field, then these markets can be destroyed very easily. Therefore, we have to respect our farmer brothers and cooperate with them in their work and grow various types of vegetable crops. Then I think these markets will remain active for years and now we have to show interest in vegetable cultivation among our youth. Then I think it will be better for our future generations and these markets can grow on a larger scale. Finally, I took a very nice picture of myself standing in the vegetable market and shared it with you. I hope you all like today's post. Thank you all.

Your post about Akbar Bhai's wholesale vegetable shop in Khalisha Kundi Bazar is quite detailed. The fact that local farmers bring vegetables directly from their fields in the morning and sell them shows the true nature of the rural economy of our region very well. In my opinion, the proposal you have made to encourage the younger generation to take up farming to maintain this continuity of the market is quite important. Because if farmers do not grow crops, such traditional wholesale markets will lose their vitality. Also, reading about the work discipline of the accountant and the market's own security system, I understood that the market is quite organized locally. Thank you for presenting such a lively market along with your experience of selling your own land. Best wishes to you in this contest. 😊
