Where is this food location situated?

This shop is located on Kalatali Road. Especially a small shop on the side of the road. Kalatali Road in Cox's Bazar city is a tourist area. This area is especially visited by tourists, due to which small shops have tea and light snacks. Moreover, tea and coffee are also available. Basically, this shop is located right next to Jalanidhi Restaurant. The size of the shop is not very big. The shop is located right next to the main road.

There were various items of dry food biscuits.IMG_20260626_201253.jpg

Because of this, everyone can enter for a light snack. Now tea and coffee are available here. I was walking to have tea, so I entered the shop. The name of the shop is Monir Tea Shop. The shop is fairly clean. There are two employees here. One sells food to everyone. The other sits on the desk and takes money.

What food or drink is this place known for?

This shop is basically known to everyone. Here they sell oil-fried poya. It also has tea. Apart from that, they also sell betel leaves and some dry cake biscuits. Especially tea and coffee, light fried food is available from morning to evening. So I saw from a distance that tea is available here, and everyone sits and eats tea and coffee. There are two types of tea available there. Here, powdered milk tea is available, and condensed milk tea is also available.

I entered with the children and asked them to give me a cup of coffee, normal coffee. The price of that coffee was 30 taka. It was very tasty to eat. I liked it very much. I spent some time sitting there with the kids because the shop was empty.

Why is this location popular among local people or visitors?

You all know that Cox's Bazar is a tourist city. Along with the sea, all the shops here have become popular with tourists. Especially during the tourist season and winter, every business becomes very busy. Then, 10-15 customers enter a shop at a time to have tea and coffee. Such shops became very popular at that time. This shop is very popular for locals as well as tourists.

I took a selfie from inside the store.

Since people usually drink tea and coffee on the way, sit down for a while, have a paan, and have a light snack. Such shops become very popular. Because such small shops are very necessary for eating a normal meal, having a cup of tea, or getting a chip. As such, the shop is very popular for locals as well as tourists.

It was great to taste the coffee.

What was your personal experience during the visit?

When I visited this shop, I liked it because. There was not so much jam, it was a little empty. I felt great sitting and having tea in an empty environment. The environment was fair, since it is located next to the main road. I really appreciated the views while having tea. There were a lot of cars on the road, and it was great to sit and have coffee by the side of the road. I was having coffee and talking to the shopkeeper.

The shopkeeper was making coffee.IMG_20260626_201159.jpg
There was a variety of breakfast items here.IMG_20260626_201155.jpg
Because he was putting too much sugar in the coffee. That's why I mixed a little more coffee, due to which the amount of sugar was reduced. When I was sitting there and having coffee, my children were also sitting there, and they were also appreciating it. Those moments were good. Finally, I ate and drank and gave him money, and he took the money. And I left with a smile. That moment was like this for me.

How does this place reflect the food culture of your area?

Such places are very popular and reflect culture a lot. Because tea, coffee, and cigarettes are very much mixed in our culture. Those who drink tea and coffee are addicted to that food. Those who drink tea regularly have to eat regularly. Those who drink paan and cigarettes regularly also have to eat regularly. Those who drink such food and drink especially choose such shops. I also wanted a shop like this where I can sit and drink tea while walking.

IMG_20260626_201202.jpg
Bananas were sold here, and there were also boiled eggs.

That is why I visited this shop. In this shop, people sit and drink tea and drink paan, while standing is the culture of our Bengalis. In such shops, people have fun by drinking tea and drinking paan. They share their thoughts. Because after a whole day's hard work, when you can drink a cup of coffee or tea, drink a paan, and smoke a cigarette, your mind becomes fresh.

Such cultures are mixed in our culture. When you see these shops, you remember tea. You remember coffee, you remember paan. This reminds us that our Bengali culture is reflected.
