Spreading positivity and creativity through my words.
Frames of My World
A world of its own, surrounded by trees, where the morning begins with the chirping of birds and the night with the glow of fireflies. Far from the hustle and bustle of the city, my ancestral home is located in a quiet village in Bhola, an island district on the southern coast of Bangladesh. From the outside, it may seem like a typical rural house in Atpoor, but once you step inside, the evergreen surroundings give it a different look. Basically, if I call my home a huge garden house, it would be no more. It is a hidden natural place, completely hidden from the eyes of outsiders.
Hidden Corners of My Area - The Secret Green Sanctuary of Bhelumia

Where is this hidden place located? |
|---|
This wonderful green corner is located in Bhelumia village, Sadar Upazila, Bhola District, Barisal Division, Bangladesh. It is basically our family's ancestral home. Its location is added below according to geographical information and precise location on Google Maps:
- Address: Village - Kunjapatti Bhelumia, Upazila - Bhola Sadar, District - Bhola, Barisal Division, Bangladesh.
- Best time to visit: 06:00 AM to 06:00 PM (Ponds, domesticated birds and nature can be seen in their true form in daylight)
- Directions: From Dhaka or Barisal, anyone can reach Bhola Kheyaghat or Elisha Ghat by launch, and from there you can take a local CNG or auto rickshaw directly to Bhelumia village.
Why do you consider it a hidden or lesser-known place? |
|---|
Usually, when people think of the natural beauty of Bhola, the first thing that comes to mind is Char Kukri-Mukri, Tarua Beach, or Manpura. But my house, located inside the village of Bhelumiya, is not an official tourist center or commercial park. It is completely private property, and since it is located inside a rural locality, an ordinary person outside can't know about the lush green world inside it. You will not find any mention of this garden in any travel guide or local map. In my opinion, it is truly a hidden paradise, as you have to cross a dirt road a little bit from the busy road to get here.

What makes this location special or unique? |
|---|
The main uniqueness of this place in my house is its diverse flora, water bodies, animal husbandry, and complete natural balance. It is not an artificially arranged garden but a combination of a living forest and a rural atmosphere that has grown with utmost care over the years.
Our garden house has all kinds of fruit, forest, and indigenous trees. Just as there are essential fruit trees like mango, papaya, banana, and betel nut here, there is also a collection of bright and spectacular flowers like Radha Chura. Our house has its own large pond, which is the lifeblood of this entire environment. Whenever we go to the village from Dhaka or the city, we regularly bathe in the cool water of this pond and get satisfaction. Moreover, we regularly cultivate various indigenous fish in this pond commercially and for our own needs. There is a deep bamboo grove on one side of the pond, which creates a unique and familiar rural atmosphere in the entire environment. In addition, there is a beautiful flowing canal right behind our house.

The most beautiful thing is that my mother keeps several ducks and chickens in our ancestral home with her own hands. Every morning, when my mother releases them and sprinkles food in the yard with utmost compassion, the way the ducks and chickens come running from all around—that whole moment seems very extraordinary and heavenly to me. This simple form of rural life has made this place even more special. With the change of seasons, the appearance of this garden changes. It is a haven for various species of local birds and butterflies, which helps to relieve the fatigue of mechanical life in an instant.

What did you discover or learn while visiting this place? |
|---|
Even though it is my own home, I discover something new every day while wandering around this garden and the pond. For example, that morning, while exploring the garden, I noticed that when the sunlight falls through the dense forest of betel and banana trees and falls on the still water of the pond and the canal behind, a strange softness is created. The floating of the fish in the pond, the familiar call of the mother feeding the ducks and chickens, or the small thatched house in a corner of the garden where dry straw and wood are kept, reminds me of an ancient tradition of rural culture.

Two huge palm trees stand in the open expanse of the garden, a familiar feature of the rural landscape of our Bhelumia region.
Spending time in this secluded nature, I realized a profound truth of life—there is no need to always run far and wide to enjoy peace and beauty. If nature, water bodies, and the biodiversity around the house can be preserved with utmost care, then the courtyard of one's own house can become the most beautiful place in the world. The silent growth of plants and their struggle to survive under nature's own laws have taught me to be patient.
What story or feeling do you think this place expresses through your photographs? |
|---|
Each frame of these 10 photos taken with my camera basically tells the story of peace, coexistence, and the pull of roots. When the sunlight melts through the gaps in the dense bamboo groves, falls on the stream of the canal behind the house, on the courtyard where the chickens roam, or on the water of the pond, the play of shadow and light that is created brings a strange peace to the mind. Through the photos, I wanted to give the message to the people trapped in the brick and stone cages of the city that true meaning lies in being close to the ground, bathing in the water of the pond, experiencing the traditional rural life of the mother's hand, and loving the plants. For me, this is not just a photo of a place, it is basically an expression of my childhood, my family, and my deep passion for nature.
