My Diary: A Day of Cramps, Agugu and Rest - 15th July 2026
Hey bestie, it’s your girl blessedi here again 👋
Welcome to another diary of my day. I hope you all had a wonderful day.
A Rough Morning With Cramps
Today was one of those "just stay inside" kind of days for me.
I woke up with stomach cramps that followed me around all day. My mood was off, and I didn’t even feel like doing much. Sometimes I wonder why these cramps always pick the days I have plans 😩
It felt like my body was telling me to slow down. Even walking to the kitchen was a struggle. I just wrapped myself in a wrapper and sat down, hoping the pain would go away on its own.
Despite how I felt, I had to take care of one thing I started since last night.
Cooking Agugu - My Local Beans
I put agugu on fire since last night. For those who don’t know, agugu is our local beans. That thing takes forever to cook o 😂
Because the pot I had was small, I had to borrow my neighbor’s big pot so I could add enough water and let it boil properly. My neighbor was so kind to lend it to me.
I used my electric hot plate for it. Before sleeping, I added plenty of water and prayed it would be fine till morning. I was scared it might burn while I was sleeping.
When I woke up, the water was almost dried up. Thank God it didn’t burn! I quickly added more water and reduced the heat.
I spent time last night picking out the bad ones so it would cook clean. I was really looking forward to eating it this morning with garri. But with the cramps and mood swings, I couldn’t even eat it. My appetite just disappeared. It pained me because I put in so much effort.
Rest, Snacks and Self-Care
Instead, I just did the only things my body allowed me:
- Eating snacks through the day - biscuits and groundnuts chin -chin
- Drinking warm water to soothe my stomach
- Sleeping on and off to ease the pain
It wasn’t a productive day, but I told myself it’s okay. Some days are just for resting and healing. I used the time to watch a movie and scroll Steemit.
Lessons From Today
This day taught me patience. Cooking agugu taught me that good things take time. You can’t rush it, or it will spoil. And my body taught me that I have to listen to it, even if it means canceling plans.
Health is really wealth. I’m hoping tomorrow will be better. No cramps, good food, and good vibes 🙏
Question for you my steemit family
What do you do when you have cramps or you’re not feeling well? Any home remedy that works for you?
Please share in the comments, I need tips ❤️ I’m tired of these monthly cramps.
Thank you for reading my diary. See you tomorrow!
