Plant Growing from a Cement 😱

I was so shocked because I haven't gone to the back of the house for a while, when I went there, so many different plants had grown, I would say overgrown there. I took a few pictures but the one that was most intriguing was the one I spotted growing from cement.

I researched how that was possible because where will it get its nutrients?

You should know that it's no ordinary cement, it's actually a septic vent. It's literally cement over where the waste of the entire house goes, and it's a house with a lot of bathrooms. We have about 10 different washrooms leading to this place. I only took a picture of a portion of it because I didn't want to stand too close.

Plant ResilienceThis place really needs some good cleaning up

A plant growing out of a septic vent is both a nature and horror moment. How people see this and don’t think of the trouble that the plant had to overcome to even start growing.

A plant starts growing where there is light concrete, some noxious fumes and some stinky gas growing out of waste, with no soil or any or very little ground to grow. Only growing cracks to push out new vent material.

Yet the plant is living a happy and full life and looks fresher than most other plants do.

This typically vented plant has the advantage of living in a warm and constantly moist environment. And a good source of the nutrients constantly. The poor conditions did not make the plant wait, it immediately started working with what nature offered. I respect it.

There are other plants at that part of the house as you can see.

Those concrete cracks turned out to be the right zone actually. So me questioning this was just an oversight of the fact that it's a nutrient dense area for the plants

These became a good source of where some sand and some semi stable that is where some seeds could and did land presumably a good growing source and semi dry source.

That should also tell you that a house on a waterlogged area and some semi land is perfect for growing plant materials.

The privilege of the septic vent also. Where soil is dry, flooded or frozen, a septic vent means perfect conditions for a plant to grow and thrive in the perfect but to me, ugly conditions.

So what someone would invest in creating a conducive environment, coincidence has done it for free.
