The diary game || Better life with steem|| Attending demo on Ne Sewing machine
As I had previously noted in a diary entry, I purchased a new sewing machine last week. A service engineer from the company visited my home to provide a demonstration of the machine and to complete the registration process.
Since this is an automatic machine, it was essential for me to familiarize myself with its operation, as I had previously worked exclusively with manual machines. Given the numerous features and options available on this automatic model, I had specifically requested a session to learn how to use them; consequently, the company dispatched a service engineer for this purpose. He had informed me that he would arrive at my home at 11:00 AM. I generated my home's location link via Google Maps and sent it to him via WhatsApp; following these directions, he arrived at my residence punctually at 11:10 AM.
After offering him a welcome drink, I placed the sewing machine on a table. He proceeded to unbox the machine, verified that all components were intact and functioning correctly, and then noted down the invoice details as well as the machine's service number (i.e., the serial number). Next, he dismantled specific sections of the machine to reveal its internal parts, explaining the function of each component to me. He then displayed all the accessories that accompanied the machine and provided a detailed demonstration on how to thread the needle.
He also demonstrated how to wind thread onto the bobbin and encouraged me to attempt the process myself. Similarly, he guided me through the needle-threading process and asked me to practice it once. Although it felt slightly awkward at first, I found it to be much easier than manually threading a needle by hand; however, I realized I would need to practice it a couple more times to master it. Subsequently, he demonstrated how to configure the various stitching patterns. The machine features two regulators—one for selecting the stitch pattern and another for adjusting the stitch length—and he not only demonstrated their operation but also provided clear, thorough instructions on how to use them effectively.
Finally, he took a piece of fabric and performed a live demonstration, showing me exactly how to sew on it using the machine. Similarly, he asked me to try it out as well, and I gave it a shot. With this machine, one can perform not only standard stitching but also various other sewing techniques—such as embroidery, overlocking, and darning—all on a single unit. Although it operates automatically, it is designed to be very user-friendly; nevertheless, I realized that gaining some practice with it is essential.

I tested all the stiching pattern and functions exactly as he demonstrated. Similarly, I also tried threading the machine, and it worked very smoothly. Furthermore, he mentioned that in a subsequent demonstration, he would teach me how to utilize various other needles and how to perform overlocking to secure fabric edges. He stated that he would return after a week; therefore, I am planning to invite him back either today or tomorrow. This is because I have now gained a reasonable amount of practice and have developed the confidence that I can sew my own clothes independently from this point forward.
Nevertheless, I have invited him back specifically to learn the details regarding cutting techniques and how to take accurate measurements. Additionally, the company offers free sewing classes through their website; they provide a membership to everyone who purchases this machine, granting them access to lifetime coaching. Consequently, this initiative proves to be highly beneficial.
