The diary game || Better life with steem|| Shopping for my daughter dress
A friend who studies alongside my daughter in Canada recently visited India. Since Coimbatore is his hometown, he had come specifically to visit his family. As he is scheduled to return to Canada next week, we thought we could take advantage of his trip to purchase and send some items for my daughter. With this in mind, we visited "Zudio"—a popular clothing store—intending to pick out some outfits that she would like.
Upon arriving at the store yesterday, I called my daughter in Canada and asked her to select the clothes she preferred. She browsed the garments via WhatsApp; whenever she expressed an interest in a particular item, I would show it to her, and in this manner, I purchased three sets of outfits for her. I am going to write about this experience here, and I hope you enjoy reading it.
This clothing store was quite spacious and spanned two floors. It featured a predominantly Western clothing collection—including denim, cotton wear, jeans, tops, frocks, and skirts—alongside traditional Indian attire such as salwar suits and kurtas. Additionally, the store offered footwear and accessories. Flanking the entrance on both sides were three mannequins on each side; these—representing a man, a woman, and a child—were beautifully dressed and displayed for public view.
Since it is currently the summer season here, the store was stocked abundantly with clothing suitable for the weather—specifically cotton fabrics and sleeveless styles. As soon as I called my daughter, she asked me to show her the clothes; so, I walked through each section, displaying the available items. She particularly liked a sleeveless frock, as well as a top-and-trouser set. I proceeded to show her other garments in those specific styles. I also sent a video to my son to give him a visual idea of the selection.
This chain of clothing stores has several branches across Coimbatore, one of which is located in Singanallur. Although this particular store is quite spacious, it does not feature as extensive a collection as some of its other branches. Nevertheless, since the crowd was sparse, browsing and making selections here was a breeze. Moreover, the staff members were extremely helpful; as we browsed, they promptly retrieved specific sizes and designs for us based on our requests. After looking through all the options, we selected and purchased three clothing items.
We then proceeded to the accessories section, where she expressed a desire for hair clips and hairbands; she tried on a few options and selected the ones she wanted. I also took the opportunity to browse through the men's clothing and accessories sections. Curious to see what was on the upper floor, we headed upstairs; there, we found sections dedicated to children's clothing and footwear, as well as another section featuring men's apparel, accessories, and footwear. We browsed through these areas and took a few photographs.
Next, we visited the footwear section to look for shoes for her; however, she didn't find anything there that she liked. Furthermore, given the severe cold in Canada—where she resides—she requires sturdy, heavy-duty footwear. Since shoe sizing standards differ significantly between Indian and Canadian manufacturers, we decided against purchasing any footwear there.
After browsing through many items, she chose a white and blue T-shirt featuring a dove motif; similarly, she selected a green and cream-colored top along with a pair of trousers to match it. When I showed them the traditional Indian wear, my daughter mentioned that such outfits were not suitable for the local climate and that she already owned plenty of similar garments; consequently, we decided against purchasing any of those. Finally, for the third outfit, she selected a top and a pair of shorts.
Afterward, we took the elevator back down to the ground floor to take one last look at the clothes we had selected. We then took our chosen items to the billing counter and settled the payment using my UPI account. As we were leaving, I paused to take several photographs of the store's exterior. The staff asked if we required a shopping bag; however, since they were charging an extra fee for it—rather than providing it for free—I declined. As we had arrived by car, we simply carried our purchases out, placed them in the vehicle, and drove off.
