The diary game: (16/05/2026) Making beans and fried plantains to satisfy my cravings
Hi guys, trust y'all are doing okay. Welcome to another episode of my diary game with @ mjeelifestyle. And here's a recap of how my Saturday went.
I woke up today by 8 Am since it's Saturday and there's no work, I said my prayers and was ready to face the day.
I had done most of my chores like cleaning and moping during the week on those days I didn't go to work, so my weekend was strictly for rest and fun. And I also decided I was going to satisfy my cravings today.
Yeah I have been craving for homemade porridge beans and dodo also know as fried plantains and I decided to make it today and I'm going to take you guys on the whole process.
First you start by washing and parboiling your beans. Then you cook it until it is 80% done. I used honey beans because of its natural sweetness and the fact that it gets soft quickly and I used my gas to cook it so I needed a specie of beans that would get done quickly.
Next, when the beans was 80% done, in another pot I went in with some palm oil, allowed that to heat up for some minutes and then added my roughly blended onions. You can choose to chop your onions boldly but I'm someone who doesn't eat onions but I do add It to my food because of the flavor it gives to food so I blend it before adding it to my food because I don't want to see it in the food I just need only the flavor. Hahahaha.
Next I added my grounded crayfish, I added some Scotch bonnet peppers and seasoning to taste. I mixed everything together and allowed it to simmer. Then I introduced my almost done beans. I allowed that to cook for like 20-30 minutes. And in no time our beans was ready
Grounded/ blended crayfish
I fried some ripe plantains to pair with the beans, and trust me it was super delicious. When I finished eating I drank some cold water to step it down. And later had my bath because I was sweating after downloading that delicious beans and plantain. I had a good three hours nap after that and what an awesome way to spend ones Saturday.
Thank you guys for reading up till this point, see y'all in my next episode and bye.
