Join me as I'm about to make this delicious native rice for the family for Sunday breakfast. I know you maybe wondering what native rice is, well wonder no more as I'm going to explain to you what it is.

What Is Native Rice

Native rice is a Nigerian dish made with Rice and Palm oil instead of the usual vegetable oil, Palm oil is preferable in this type of rice dish.

Ingredients For Native Rice

  • Local rice
  • Palm oil
  • Fresh peppers
  • Onions
  • Crayfish
  • Seasoning
  • Assorted (any protein of choice)
  • Dry fish
  • Boiled eggs
  • Kanda(ponmo) Cowskin
  • Salt to taste
  • African nutmeg
  • pepper soup spice
  • Vegetable leaves (optional)you can also use scent leaves

Let's Dive Into Cooking This Special Dish

Firstly I start by bleaching my Palm oil a little

Then I go in with my onions and crayfish

I go in with my smoked deboned fish next and stir very well to infuse the into the fish

This time around, I stir for some minutes to fry my fresh pepper a bit

Then I go in with my boiled eggs

I added my deshelled boiled eggs to my stew pot

I go ahead and add my proteins

Introducing my washed rice

stirring everything togetheradded sliced scent leaves to my spicy native rice

And the food is ready, I put some in a plastic bowl to store in the fridge, you can come with your own plate so I can give you some of this goodness.
