Dear Steemians,

I hope you are all well and enjoying your life as usual. Today, I am going to share with you a quick write up on white sugar and it's risks and dangers.

Use of white sugar has numerous health risks, primarily because it has 400 "empty calories" per 100 grams without essential nutrients. Major dangers include:

Weight Gain obesity : Added sugars significantly increases the excess caloric intake, causing an unhealthy weight gain and obesity.

Risk of Type 2 Diabetes: Intake of large amounts of sugar can lead to chronic spikes in the blood sugar levels and can cause insulin resistance where the body's cells stop responding to insulin properly.

Risk of heart disease: Excess sugar intake causes high triglyceride levels in the blood and high blood pressure, which are major risk factors for heart attacks and strokes.

Risk of fatty liver disease is increased with high intake of sugar as the liver gets covered with fat created by high sugars.

Risk of tooth decay: Bacteria in the mouth thrive on sugar and produces acid that de-mineralizes tooth enamel, making sugar one of the leading causes of tooth cavities.

Risk of Chronic Inflammation: Sugar boosts inflammatory markers in the blood, which cause an increased risk of autoimmune diseases, arthritis, and certain cancers.

Risk of energy and mood crashes: Sugar creates rapid spikes in blood glucose followed by a sharp crash, which causes fatigue, mood swings, and a higher risk of depression and anxiety.

Risk of Skin Damage and Aging: High intake of sugar which damage collagen and elastin, accelerating skin sagging, wrinkles, and acne

Risk of cognitive decline: High intake of sugars is linked to gradual but certain cognitive decline in human beings.

Risk of addiction; High sugar intake promotes addiction of sugar consumption and users find it difficult to quit using sugar even when they make deliberate attempts to quit sugar consumption.

I hope I have added some new information to your knowledge.

Thanks for visiting my post.

Best regards
