A Rainy Morning, Quran Lessons, and Time with My Students

Today was one of those simple but meaningful days that reminded me that teaching is not only about passing on knowledge but also about building patience and good relationships.

A Blessed Rainy Start
I woke up early this morning and began my day with Fajr prayer. Not long after, the sky became cloudy, and a gentle rain started to fall. Since rainwater is always useful, I quickly brought out several containers and placed them outside to collect as much water as possible. Watching the rain fall while the morning remained cool created a calm atmosphere that made the start of the day feel refreshing.

Teaching at the Mosque
After getting ready, I headed to the mosque for my usual Quran classes. Seeing the children arrive with their different personalities always brings life to the classroom.
Today's lesson included a review of their Aqeedah book. I asked the students questions based on what they had learned previously. To my surprise, many of them struggled to remember the answers. It was a little disappointing because I knew we had covered those topics carefully, but I also understood that children need constant revision before lessons become firmly rooted in their minds.
Instead of becoming frustrated, I encouraged them to keep reviewing at home and reminded them that learning is a gradual process.

Sharing a Few Happy Moments
After the lesson, the atmosphere became much lighter. I spent a few minutes playing with some of the children and took photos of them. Their smiles and laughter quickly erased the seriousness of the earlier test. Moments like these help strengthen the bond between a teacher and students, making the learning environment more welcoming and enjoyable.

Final Thoughts
Looking back on today, I realized that teaching requires more than simply explaining lessons. It demands patience, consistency, and understanding that every student learns at a different pace. I left the mosque hopeful that, with regular practice and encouragement, the children will improve over time.
