I think this combination of taking notes with the Pomodoro technique and revising before bed is quite effective. A 5-minute break after 25 minutes of reading prevents the mind from tiring, and a glance at night after a full day of reading helps prolong memory. Keeping your phone away from your study table or on silent is the best way to maintain focus these days, because once the notification tone distracts you, it takes a long time to get back to where you were. I agree with you. Maintaining consistency in studying, or spending at least an hour with a book every day, significantly reduces extra stress before exams.
