For this contest, I selected a fried food street shop located in the Old Market (Puraton Bazar) area of Parbatipur town. This shop operates only two days a week during the local market (hat). The owner of the shop is Aminul Islam. The shop does not have a specific name, but it is easy to find if you visit the Old Market during the market days. The shop usually opens from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM. If you come to Parbatipur town, you can easily reach the place by taking a rickshaw or van for around 10 taka, and anyone in the area can guide you to the shop.

In this shop, you can find many kinds of fried snacks like jilapi, khagrai, khurma, batasa, and nimki. I personally feel that the quality of these foods is quite good, and I have never had any problems after eating them. The prices are also very affordable, so you can easily buy these tasty snacks with a small amount of money.

While visiting this shop, one important thing I noticed is that all the food items are fresh. They prepare the snacks before setting up the shop and bring them here to sell in a fresh condition. I felt that the food was clean and tasty. Another interesting thing is that their items usually don’t remain unsold most of the food gets sold out by the end of the day, which shows how popular and trusted this shop is.

Since this shop is set up only two days a week during the local market, it is not a permanent structure. Many different shops gather on those days, so the vendors bring their necessary items and set up their stalls by the roadside. They usually make a simple structure using bamboo and cover it with a temporary shade. The food items are arranged in different containers and displayed nicely, which makes them look very attractive to customers.

I really enjoy eating these foods when they are hot. Items like jaggery jilapi, sugar jilapi, and khagrai taste especially good when they are freshly warm. Since they prepare the food earlier and bring it to the market, the items usually stay fresh and tasty, which I really like.

I really like to drink cold water with these fried snacks. After eating them, I sometimes feel a bit of dryness in my throat, so cold water makes me feel much better. Since most of these foods are quite dry, they can make the throat feel dry too, and in that case, cold water really helps and makes the experience more comfortable.

I really enjoy eating these snacks in the evening after a long day, especially when I go to the market on market days. When I visit the market in the afternoon or evening, I make sure to stop by these shops and see which foods look the most fresh and tempting. Then I choose the ones I like and enjoy them. I have mostly eaten these foods in the afternoon and at night, as that is when I visit the market the most.

Still, for me, the best time is in the evening when I go to the market, and that’s when I usually enjoy these tasty snacks the most.
