Daily Menu Delicacies Week No.119. date (23-3-2026) // CHIKPEAS GRAVY, CABBAGE STIR and GAST FOOD

Yesterday, the weather here was extremely hot. In the morning, after drinking a glass of plain water, I spent some time on the terrace performing physical exercises and breathing exercises. For breakfast, I had already soaked chickpeas in water the previous day; they were now thoroughly soaked. I pressure-cooked them for five minutes, then sautéed and pureed ingredients such as tomatoes and onions, which I added to the cooked chickpeas to prepare a chickpea curry. I also prepared chapatis to accompany it. For breakfast, the combination of chapatis and chickpea curry proved to be an excellent choice. I packed this very same meal in a tiffin box for my son to take to school.
Given that the climate here is extremely hot, I felt it would be highly beneficial to consume water-rich fruits. Currently, it is watermelon season here; consequently, we purchased some watermelons for the house. We sliced them up and shared them, eating them yesterday morning around 11:00 AM.
For lunch, I took the cabbage I had at home, chopped it into small pieces, and prepared a stir-fry. Since I had both green and purple varieties of cabbage, the combination of the two looked absolutely beautiful; it was so visually appealing that it practically made one want to eat it just by looking at it—which is precisely why I had bought them in the first place. To accompany this dish, I served the chapatis I had prepared earlier that morning. People here generally do not eat heavy lunches because the climate is quite hot; consequently, since everyone tends to consume various cool drinks and beverages, they opt for very light meals. That is why I simply set aside the chapatis made in the morning to serve as our lunch.
I thought we could eat out in the evening; since it was extremely hot inside the house, and thinking that stepping out would offer some relief from the heat, we decided to go out. We visited a fast-food restaurant located a short distance from our home, where we ordered and enjoyed some Pav Bhaji and a Cheese Sandwich. Both dishes were delicious and prepared hygienically.
