SLC31-W4 // “The Sweet Gastronomic Route” - Fried and Street Desserts

Greetings Everyone!

Today I am going to share my experience of visiting a popular street food stall located in Satarkul, Badda, Dhaka. At first glance, this small roadside food shop caught my attention immediately. The red decoration of the stall and the delicious aroma of freshly fried snacks made me stop there without any hesitation.

Name, Location and Opening Hours

The name of this street food stall was “Allahor Dan Muri O Fuchka Ghor.”

Location: Satarkul, Badda, Dhaka
Opening Hours: 4 PM to 10 PM

The shop was set up on a small roadside cart. It was surrounded by transparent plastic covers, which helped protect the food from dust and dirt. During the evening, I noticed a good number of customers around the stall, which clearly showed its popularity among local people.

Structure, Environment and Service

The street food shop was looking clean

Although the structure of the stall was simple, it was decorated nicely. The red lighting and clean display made the shop look attractive. Different fried snacks were arranged beautifully inside the stall. I also observed that the sellers were working quickly and serving customers without much delay.

Since the stall was beside the road, there was naturally a little dust in the environment. However, the food items were kept covered as much as possible. The movement of people, traffic sounds, and the smell of hot fried snacks created a lively and authentic street food atmosphere.

Fried Desserts and Food Quality

I saw several types of fried snacks at the stall. I especially liked the large crispy piyaji and the spicy puffed rice mixture. The fried snacks were freshly taken out of the hot oil, making the outer layer very crispy while the inside remained soft and tasty.

The puffed rice was mixed with spices, chickpeas, onions, and other ingredients. The combination of spicy, tangy, and crunchy flavors made it very enjoyable.

In my opinion, the food quality was quite good, especially when served hot.

Price and Payment Method

The prices were affordable and suitable for ordinary people. I received a good quantity of food for a small amount of money. For roadside snacks, I think the prices were very reasonable.

The shop mainly accepted cash payments. However, nowadays many street food stalls also accept mobile banking services, so that might also be available.

✓ Do you prefer to have your sweet freshly made from the oil, or do you not mind if they already have it on the counter?

I always prefer freshly fried snacks directly from the hot oil because they taste crispier and more flavorful when served hot.

✓ Do you usually have your fried desserts with a hot coffee or do you prefer a cold drink?

I usually prefer having these fried snacks with a cold drink because it makes the eating experience more refreshing and enjoyable.

✓ Do you prefer to enjoy these sweets as an afternoon snack or as the perfect ending after a traditional lunch?

For me, these types of street foods are best enjoyed as evening snacks. Eating hot and crispy snacks while spending time with friends feels truly amazing.

My Personal Experience

I had a very enjoyable experience visiting this street food stall. Even though it was a simple roadside setup, the delicious taste of the food and the lively crowd made the place feel vibrant and enjoyable. The aroma of freshly fried snacks and the live cooking process made the experience even more interesting for me. In the busy lifestyle of Dhaka city, these small street food stalls play an important role in enriching our food culture. I would definitely love to visit the place again in the future and try more items.
