3 Values I Live By And Why It Matters

If you ask 3 things that guide my life and makes me different from others, I would say: The Golden Rule; forgive freely; and Simple life. These are my top 3 guide in life. Though I have many more, I discipline myself to keep up with them.

Here is my top 3 values, and why I stick to them:

1. Golden Rule

Make people comfortable in the way you want them to do to you.

This value helps me think how I would feel if what I'm doing to others are reversed to me.

Why it matters:

• It builds trust. People around me will feel free to associate with me.

• It makes relationships with others less complicated. I won't be having much or serious issues with others.

• Keeping to this "rule" helps eliminate selfishness and greed.

2. Forgive freely

For me, forgiving freely means you letting go of an issue I had with someone, not because what they did was good or applaudable but for my peace of mind.

Why it matters:

• It helps me build a healthy relationships and protects my mental health.

• Spirituality/faith and beliefs. If God had made provision to forgive me freely whenever I wrong Him, then who I'm I not to forgive others too?

• Holding grudges is not healthy. Research shows that grudges can depreciates our lifespan. Though I don't know when my life will end, I would love to live long😌

3. Simple Life

I don't chase after everything. Instead I'm content with what I have, what my money can afford, and what I really need. Finding joy in small things like; good food, nature's beauty, family and more.

Why it matters:

• Saves me from comparison and pressure.

• It makes me grateful for my achievements.

• It saves me from unnecessary debts.

These top 3 values make me unique. Treat others how I want to be treated makes me trustworthy to others; forgiving freely is medicine for my mental health and living simple guides me to part of being contentious and saves me from debt. Without effective application of this 3 values, I would be lost in life.
