SCS32-W5 | Real-Life Problem Solving Challenge: Study Techniques
ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُالله وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
Hello Everyone I Am @ashike10 👳♀️ From Bangladesh 🇧🇩
Dear friends, I hope everyone is doing well. Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Allah, I am also doing very well. Finally, I have come here to participate in the fifth week of Season 32. This week’s content is very simple and great for us. It is the Real-Life Problem Solving Challenge: I must thank my dear friend @ahsansharif, who has organized this competition so wonderfully. So, let’s not waste any more time and get started.
Studying and reading books are two common ways to gain knowledge and self-education. It reminds me of my school days. When I used to take my studies very seriously, stayed up at night, and without wasting extra time to get good grades, I have shared my study method in this post, which is a challenge organized by @ahsansharif.
1➤Which study method do you often use, and how effective is it?
By method, I mean I like to study with full focus. I usually study from after Maghrib until late at night with great concentration. I use this method frequently in my studies, and if I focus completely for 25-30 minutes, I can memorize what I’m studying, then I take a 5-minute break. After that, I start studying again after Fajr because what I studied after Maghrib automatically stays in my memory until Fajr.

Note-taking method: I use a highlighter to mark the important parts of the text. While reading, I highlight the key points, which is a way to remember the main points. Later, when I open the book, my eyes immediately go to the highlighted parts. This helps me remember information quickly and effectively, and also makes revision easier.

The method I mentioned above, I now apply with my students. Since I am a teacher now, I have to guide my students. I tell them to study carefully after Maghrib and after Fajr prayers. When they study with concentration, it is noticeable that they also memorize the lessons very quickly. ...
Revision before sleeping: I often give my students 15 to 20 minutes to revise what they've studied during the day. I also do my own revision, which makes it very easy to remember everything I've previously studied and helps improve my memory retention.

2➤What are the biggest distractions in your studies and how do you manage them?
My biggest distractions are social media and excessive phone use. Sometimes I get confused by notifications and social media, which interrupts my focus.
How I manage them:
- If I study by myself, then ~
- During study time, I keep my phone on silent mode
- I keep my phone away from my study table
- After achieving my study goals, I start using my phone again. Following this method prevents further distractions.

3➤What’s a good habit that helps improve your academic performance?
A good habit that has helped me improve my academic performance is consistency. And whenever I study, I study with full concentration, not getting distracted by anything else. Many people, it seems, wait until exam time is near or the schedule is announced, then they start studying very hard. But I don’t do that; I study a little bit every day. By studying regularly like this, I don’t have to stress too much during exams, and I can prepare very easily. Not just reading books, but I do any task or subject with full focus and then I get a lot of benefit from it.
Benefits:
It reduces exam stress.
It boosts confidence.
It has improved my academic performance.
Consistency is the key to success, and it has taught me discipline and really helped me become a more effective student. That's why consistency is very important, and we will all maintain this consistency, Insha'Allah.

4➤Describe generally which digital tools, apps, or resources you use for studying.?
The digital tool I use is Google Calendar. This tool helps me in the following ways:
It helps me organize my study schedule, making it very easy to maintain time.
It helps set reminders for assignments and exams.
It helps manage deadlines.
It improves my time management.
5➤What advice would you give to students who struggle with anxiety and depression during exams?
Students who struggle with anxiety and depression during exams should remember that academic success is very important, but their health is equally important. So, alongside studying, they should also pay attention to their body.
My advice:
Create a realistic study plan: Don’t try to do too much at once. Break big tasks into smaller, manageable steps.
Take regular breaks: Studying continuously for long periods increases stress. You should take short breaks to keep your brain fresh. This helps your brain stay calm and makes it much easier to retain what you study next.

Talk to someone: Share your worries with someone you trust. Take their advice; support from others can really help with your studies and can make a big difference in your learning.
Get enough sleep: If you don't rest well throughout the day, you won't be able to focus while studying. But if you rest properly, you'll do better, and taking breaks should also be part of your routine. Making it mandatory is essential.
I am inviting a few friends to this contest. @wilmer1998 and @bossj23 @memamun,@solaymann @mustafiz40 @hmshamim

I really admire your ways of studying well, most especially your act of highlighting the important text is a good tactic for easy focus while reviewing. I also get carried away with social media sometimes when I want to study, you just decide to scroll for a short time and before you realize you've wasted the whole time doing nothing helpful. Students facing depression and anxiety indeed need to talk with individuals that can understand they situation and help them believe they can do what they put their mind to
