SEC-S30W6: People who motivate | Victor (My best friend)

I can remember I once asked myself “Why life always hard like this? Who even is there to ginger me so that I won't give up?” That kind moment which everything looks heavy, there's one person that can show to show that there's still hope.
For me, that person is my friend Victor. Victor is a guy that carry one kind spirit which inspire me than anything. He is a real friend, he is practical, and he shows me that resilience is the true definition of success.
One incident which I will never forget happen during COVID-19 lockdown. That period, business was really dry like desert. I do sell phone accessories, but nobody was out to buy it because people do fear to go out. I do reason to pack up, go back hometown, because everything have crumble.

Victor called me one evening, for us to meet. We sat down at one mini restaurant, he look at me straight, and told me: “Guy, you see this lockdown as end, but there's opportunity that hide inside. People do stay home, they would use phone more than ever. It's now they need charger, power bank, and earphone more. If you could adjust, you will make money.”
That advice really shock me. I never reason it that way. He even help me to plan: “Dont wait for market. Try to use WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram. Post your goods, deliver it with your bike. People will buy it because they don't want to be walking around outside.”
Honestly I try it. I begin to advertise online, deliver with dispatch rider. Before two weeks, I have sold more than what I do sell before lockdown. That advice didn't just save my business, it save my confidence. I realize that sometimes it's perspective that matters.
Victor himself too have face problems too. He fail WAEC once back then, but he didn't give up. He retake it, pass, and later entered polytechnic. He started printing business, lose money, but still bounce back. He do always tell me: “Failure is a rehearsal for success. So If you don't just fail, you won't know how to win later.”

Therefore, another time, when I was preparing for one professional exam, I complain that the thing is too hard. Victor told me: “Guy, exam is just like the football we play. Therefore, If you don't try to train to play, you will surely lose in the match. But if you train very well, even if you don't score many goals, you can still win.” That saying really motivated me. I begin to read steady, not to procrastinate. At the end, I pass the exam.
Victor motivate me because he's a real friend and a brother to me. He really shows me that resilience is really important in our life. He also remind me that life is a journey, and as long as you are walking, you will reach where you are going.
That's why anytime I do think of people which inspire me, it's Victor that top my list. He is not perfect, but those imperfection makes him human. He remind me that there's hope, even inside problem.
