The Diary Game: [28/06/2026] Clearing Out Plantain Farm Destroyed By Rain
Hello guys! Today began very bad for me. I woke up to the bad news of rain destroying my Dad's plantain farm. It was raining so heavily throughout the night, and while we were busy enjoying the cold of the night from the rain, it was also busy destroying a lot on our farm. I was so angry and weak from seeing most of the plantain fallen to the ground.
My Dad had invested so much in this farm, and we cultivated all our energy into raising the farm. It was so frustrating and disappointing to see the level of damage that had been made. My junior sister was left in tears considering the time, money, and effort that has been utilised on that farm. Initially, I didn't even consider the fact that we were going to be feeding from the farm throughout the remaining months of the year, I was so worried about how badly this event would put down my Dad. He deserves more than this. Regardless, the damage had been made already. I was even surprise to see my parent take lead in the clearing process. My senior brother and his friend followed, and then myself. Few hours into the work, we created jokes that could put our minds off the damage. The worst thing about this incidence was that most of the plantains had already started bearing fruits as shown in the image below, but now they've all fallen to the ground.
Soon after we finished clearing out the space, I stepped out to find some leaves for my rabbits. I could not find any fresh ones by the bushes surrounding my area, so I had to go farther to continue my search. It was so unfortunate for me because I wasn't going with bike but on foot. My bike has been faulty for the longest while now. Finally, I got to a place that was filled with all greenish cover crops. I didn't waste a second to go down and start cutting them until I was okay.
After cutting the leaves, I bagged them, and had them ready for my rabbits. On reaching the house, I fed all my rabbits respectively. I had lectures to attend by 11 and it was few minutes to the time already, so I had to go get myself ready for school afterwards. I took my shower and dressed quickly just so I could follow my neighbour in his car who was going towards my school area. I arrived at school at about 11:26 am, but that wasn't too bad for me because the lecturer did not even come yet. I used the time while waiting on him to collect and measure plant samples that I'd use for my project work.
Like I said earlier, I measured and recorded all the characteristic features of the plant samples and then disposed of them afterwards. The course lecturer arrived shortly after I finished with the samples. He spared about 2 hours with us lecturing and later gave tutorial questions to aid our studies during preparation for exams. After the lecture, I didn't even bother about signing attendance. I was too hungry to even want to risk that time. I took my bags, exchanged greetings with my friends, and then stepped out to pay my way home.
On my way home, I was already visualising the plate of food I left inside the fridge in the morning. I thought maybe no one in my house would notice I had a remaining soup in the fridge. Well, it was all a fantasy because when I got home, before it was announced to me, from the look everyone was wearing, I knew something had happened to the food. It happened that my younger cousins came visiting , and my soup was the first option to what they should eat. After settling down for a while, I stepped out to a supermarket to get small stuff that'll eat.
On my way back I branched a place I do charge my gadgets to charge my phone cus it was running low. I spent few hours there until my phone was charged to a better percentage. As I got home, I ended up still sharing the little things I bought from the supermarket, and then later I allowed myself to rest from the stressful day. It started all badly, but in everything I still give God the glory.
