My Daughter's World of Color: A Father's Story of Fascination and Love

in Steem For Lifestylelast month

Today is a very special day for me. When my eldest daughter sits down with her drawing pad and a box of paints, the whole house seems to calm down. When she is immersed in her colorful world, I am truly amazed by her focus and concentration. Recently, she drew a picture, which I felt was not just a picture, but a clear piece of sky in her mind. I watched every stage of the picture very closely and captured them on my phone's camera.

It started very simply. A white paper and a pencil in her hand. As she was lightly drawing in the middle of the paper and sketching the riverbank and mountains, I noticed how fluent her hands were. In the picture, she drew a river, with two green mountains on both banks and a flock of small birds flying above. It is wonderful to see a world created by the scratches of a pencil on this blank paper.

The most beautiful aspect of the drawing came out when he started coloring. On his table was a set of Matador i-teen colored pencils. With these colors, he started coloring his imaginations one by one. I saw that he had carefully arranged each layer of the seven colors of the rainbow. Blue, purple, green, yellow—what a wonderful match of one color to another! Seeing the perfect bend and color combination of the rainbow, I did not think that it was a drawing by a small child.

In the small hills and trees on both sides of the picture, he used different shades of green. Somewhere dark green, and somewhere a fresh green mixed with light yellow. These small differences in color that he learned to understand, it gives me great joy. The small grassy hills that he drew on the edge of the mountain, made the whole picture much more alive. The light blue water of the river and the whiteness of the sky seem to have become one.

For me as a father, this is not just an ordinary drawing. This is a test of my daughter's patience. In a world where kids these days are glued to their mobile phones or YouTube all day, my daughter loves to spend hours with paint and paper—this is my greatest achievement. I believe that the concentration she had while making every scratch on this picture will help her become a better person in life. Concentration and patience are great assets in human life.

Sometimes I wonder, are these little birds flying in the sky a representation of my daughter's imagination? Maybe she dreams of a beautiful world with wings spread out where only joy and color are spread. There is no complexity in this picture she has drawn, but rather a strange tranquility. Whenever I look at the picture she has drawn, my mind feels refreshed. Maybe this is the meaning of art.

It is our responsibility to give importance to the small hobbies of our children. I will always want my daughter to sustain this creative nature of hers. Today she has drawn a small rainbow, tomorrow maybe a big canvas will be colored by her hands. But the memories of those early days will remain in my heart forever. I will always have immense love and support for this little artist.

When I saw her paintings arranged one by one, my chest filled with pride. I don't know if she will become a great artist in the future, but I want her to always grow up as such a colorful person. May her drawings, her imaginations live on like this. I am truly a successful father to be a witness to this artistic journey of my daughter. I pray that she has a colorful life like this for the rest of her life, just like her dreams.

A proud father
