✨ I Found an Art Supply Paradise in the Most Unexpected place in Ghana Tamale
Today started like one of those normal days where you’re just moving around trying to figure things out.
Since I moved to Ghana, one of my biggest struggles has been getting art materials.
It sounds small, but if you’re an artist, you know how frustrating it is when you want to create but you don’t even know where to find the tools.
people are really secretive here especially when they hear a Nigerian accent.
😅 The search wasn’t easy…
Today I went out again, checking different spots, asking around, trying to find anything useful.
On my way to ask about another store, I remembered something:
I had once seen some art materials in a small Chinese shop near my area… but I didn’t think much of it at the time.
Then I remembered there was a bigger Chinese store somewhere in Tamale I hadn’t really explored properly.
So instead of just passing by, I decided to go inside a mall I usually don’t even enter.
That decision changed everything.
🎨 I walked into an “art paradise” by accident
I can’t even describe the feeling properly.
Inside that section of the store, I saw:
Acrylic paints 🎨
Canvases 🖼️
Brushes
And a whole setup of materials I’ve been struggling to find
It was like walking into a place I didn’t even know I needed.
After all the searching and asking around… it was just there, quietly waiting.
🚀 What this means for me now
This moment is bigger than just finding paint.
It means:
I can create more consistently now
I don’t have to pause my work because of materials
I can finally build momentum again in my art journey
And honestly I’m excited to get back into creating properly.
😅 Apologies didn’t take many photos today, but I’ll be going back to document more properly.
