Pencil Portrait Drawing — Step by Step Drawing Tutorial

Hi friends how are you? I'm @taaher1 from Pakistan and today I am sharing a very beautiful and simple pencil portrait drawing of boy with you. I completed this drawing in a few simple steps, which can also be seen in the image.

How to make 📝

Step 1: Basic outline

First I draw a very light outline of the head and face of the boy. Keep the pencil pressure very low at this stage so that the lines can be easily corrected if I needed.

Step 2: Hair and face shape

After that I made the overall shape of the hair and gave the hair detail with small pencil lines. Then completed the outline of the ear, jaw and neck.

Step 3: Facial features

Now I added the eyes, nose and lips. I tried to place these features in the right place so that the face shape looks balanced.

Step 4: Shading and Final Details

Finally, light shading near the hair, eyes, nose and neck. Added darker lines in some places and lightened unnecessary lines with rubber.

🎨 My experience

The most interesting part for me in this drawing was the detailing of the facial features and hair. At very first step there were only a few light medium lines, but gradually a complete and perfect portrait developed.
Through my this work of art, I learned that observation, patience, focus and constant practice are more important and crucial than rushing for a good drawing.
