A couple of Steemit Engagement Challenges ago, there was a topic about "A little bit of motivation can go a long way." This is so true. We all need that encouragement to enable us to do better. Encouragement from family, friends, Steemit friends, and yes, also from yourself.

The best way you can encourage yourself is by self-gifting. You are the best person to know what you have gone through, the hard work you have put into reaching that goal, and the offerings you have made. So, reward yourself. It is the feeling of self-gifting that counts, not the what. In my case, a haircut, a little bit of "me time", and even a piece of chocolate can go a long way.

The gift would I like to give myself

I saw the question, "What gift would you like to give yourself?" and I answered it without thinking twice. This time I am not going to be satisfied with chocolate or a haircut; no, I am going big! What do they say, "Go big or go home?"

If there is one thing that I would like to gift myself with right now, it will be a Steemit World Tour in 31 days!

I want to visit 15 "Steemit countries" in 31 days . Why 15? It is the amount of Steem Power I give away every week in one of my weekly contests. It makes sense, doesn’t it?

Whoola! I’ve worked it out. This will be a challenge on its own, but it can be done.

Would owning it make your life easier?

Would I own it? I won’t be owning it physically, but I will have it on paper and in my passport, which will be more than enough for me.

Would it make my life easier? Um, at first I thought, no, it won't, but then I sat thinking about it. Yes! It will make my life easier on Steemit. I will be more familiar with the different time zones. I will have a better idea of where each country is on the big world map. Most importantly, I will meet some of my Steemian friends in person. Having that special connection of "I know you" will indeed make life easier when it comes to Steemit. It will be AWESOME!

Just like the word awesome is embedded in the English language, so will be my Steemian friends embedded in my life.

The cost of this gift

One thing I can tell you is that it is not going to be a cheap gift. I will have to post very hard, comment very hard, vote very hard, and power up very hard over a VERY long period to be able to spoil myself with this gift.

Does Steemit help me to save for what I want so much?

I must be honest that up until now I have not given much thought to what I would like to do with my Steemit money.

Steemit is my business and I like any other business I had in my life.

• It provides a working environment for me
• I am part of a team
• I receive appreciation for what I contribute to my business
• I can grow with the platform

It makes good business sense to leave it to grow.

What other gifts have I given myself before?

As I said at the beginning of the post, I like to self-gift, and I often do it with little things. One thing, however, was a gift I bought myself way back in 2007. This came after having three different jobs: cleaning stables in the morning, working as a waiter in the afternoon at a trendy restaurant, and working the night shift on Burroughs mainframes, my real job, which all allowed me to save.

It was my partner, now my hubby, who convinced me to spoil myself. "You deserve it." It didn’t take much convincing, as somewhere I read that by spoiling yourself, you also make your loved ones happy, and did I not make them happy.

I bought myself a brand new BWW Z4 with all the bells and whistles you can get. My gift was also a gift for my kids. "Mom, can I take your car?"

I no longer have this car but the memories of this gift will never fade.

Go on spoil yourself and buy that gift! You deserve it!
