Name of the place

The hidden place I am going to talk about is called the 12 Duari Building. It got this name because it has many doors, so many that it’s hard to tell which door leads where. It was probably built a long time ago by a king of this region. I’m not exactly sure why he built it, but I will share whatever information I have learned about it.

Strange Doors

Exact address and how to get there

To visit this place, you need to go to Dinajpur. From Dinajpur town, it is about 10 to 12 kilometers away, in the Ramsagar Dighi area. The building is located right beside the large pond, and it was built there by the king of that time. Once you reach Dinajpur, you can simply tell a rickshaw or auto driver about the place, and they will take you there. You can also follow the location I have provided to reach it easily.

General description of the place, explain in detail what it looks like, entrance fees if applicable, rules, environment, and whether food or drinks are available for purchase.

This place is a very ancient structure, and many people come here to see it. During my visit, I talked with some local people and learned that it was built by a king of that time named Raja Ramnath. The building is designed in such a detailed way that when you enter it, it feels almost like being inside a cave. Because it has so many doors, it is called the Baro Duari (twelve-door building). The surroundings are really beautiful and peaceful, and since the building is very old, a large banyan tree has grown on top of it, which makes it look even more unique.

People’s are to visit this place

To visit this place, you need to buy a ticket at the entrance, which costs around 10 taka. This ticket is mainly for visiting Ramsagar Dighi, and the building is located right beside that pond. As the area is a bit far from the main city, there are not many shops nearby. However, you can still find a few small shops where you can buy cold water and light snacks. Overall, it’s a calm and interesting place to explore.

How did you discover this curiosity or unusual place? Or is it something you had always known about?

I went to Dinajpur for a trip and planned to visit Ramsagar Dighi. While I was on my way there, I suddenly noticed the name of this building on a sign by the roadside. Out of curiosity, I decided to go and check it out. I didn’t know before that the building was hidden near the pond. When I reached there, I saw that it was a very old structure. I became really interested and explored it on my own.

Me

What is the history or explanation behind this unusual place?

As far as I know and from what I have learned, this structure was built by the king of that time along with the excavation of the large pond in that area. It seems that he built it out of his own curiosity and interest. In my opinion, he might have used it as a kind of secret place, because there are so many doors that once someone enters, it becomes very difficult to understand which door leads where. So I personally think that the king designed this

What is the craziest thing you have heard from local people about this place?

I tried to learn more about this structure by talking to the local people around the area. I asked them why it was built and how it was used. They shared a similar idea to mine, saying that it might have been used by the king as a secret hideout. According to them, the building was designed with many doors so that no one could easily find or reach him. They also told me that the king probably built this place mainly for his own safety and protection.

After visiting this place, I really liked it and learned a lot of interesting things. As far as I understand, the king built this structure with many doors mainly for his own safety and protection. The design itself is very unique and made me curious to explore every part of it.

Another Door

You asked what fun name I would give it, and based on my experience, I would call it the “Museum of Doors.” The reason is simple there are so many doors here that it truly feels like a collection of them. I have never seen so many doors in one place before. Even though it’s just a fun name I came up with, I think it suits the place quite well.
