Assalamu Alaikum. Greetings and welcome to my competition today. The topic of my competition today is--SLC33-W3: My Community, My Story – Transportation in My Area. I have come to share with you today a discussion about the transportation system in our area. First of all, I would like to thank our dear brother @josepha for choosing such a beautiful topic through which I got the opportunity to discuss.

Each area has its own transportation system. Moreover, some common transportation systems run throughout the country. So let's start with the main discussion.

What is the common means of transportation in your community? Tell us, including the location of the transportation
In our tourist city of Cox's Bazar, TomTom is mainly used. Especially here, local people travel here and there with autorickshaws, Tomtoms, and CNG. Those who are a little rich and have money use private cars. Many people from middle-class families do not have the means to buy a car, so they basically use local TomTom cars. Moreover, there are a lot of auto rickshaws here.

There are especially a lot of Tomtoms in the city, and those who want to travel a little more comfortably use CNG. Moreover, there are a lot of motorcycles here. People who can afford it personally use motorcycles. But as an alternative, they use auto rickshaws and TomTom cars as public transport. And many people use microbuses as families.
Which mode of transportation system do you use more often in your community and why?
The vehicle that I use the most in my area is the auto rickshaw, which is battery-powered. It can travel very quickly and is also comfortable, and I use it when I go out. If we want to spend a little less money, we take Tomtoms. Which can be used safely. 5/6 passengers can travel together in a TomTom.
The fares are fixed at 10 taka, 20 taka, 30 taka, etc.

Moreover, when we take auto rickshaws that are battery-powered, we charge 20 taka, 30 taka, or 50 taka. We use auto rickshaws less, which is why they go very fast. Due to this, the chances of accidents are very high. In most cases, we use tom-tom vehicles, which have low fares. And there is a chance of going safely. If we want to go alone quickly, then we use auto rickshaws.

How affordable, safe, and convenient is the transportation system in your community?
The tourist city of Cox's Bazar has a large number of tuk-tuk systems. So many tom-tom licenses have been issued that there are actually too many in the city. Moreover, there are also a large number of auto rickshaws. If the police notice many illegal vehicles here, they are fined a lot of money. There is so much traffic in this city; there are more accidents here, especially those involving tom-toms and auto rickshaws.
Moreover, when the tourist season comes in winter, the fare increases a lot. Since a lot of tourists come here to visit, car owners also use those opportunities. However, car fares are a little lower in other seasons. The autorickshaws that are battery-operated are very dangerous, and there are many accidents. Compared to autorickshaws, tom-toms are a little more convenient. Moreover, there are a lot of young people who use motorcycles here.

We drive cars so recklessly, which is why there are many accidents. Since there are a lot of tom-tom cars and rickshaws available here, it is a bit of a saving for us. Cars are very easy to get to travel in. However, the roads are not very safe because there are so many cars, and one car hits another.
Tell us the challenges that you and other commuters face with the transportation system and the improvements you would like to see.
There are so many tom-tom cars here that you cannot get out on the roads, and there are a lot of jams. Moreover, the possibility of accidents increases a lot due to the excessive tom-tom cars. When everyone goes to the office or leaves the office, there is a lot of traffic on the roads. When there are school and college holidays, there are a lot of traffic jams due to the excess cars. Due to this, we cannot reach the office or school on time, and we have to face a lot of problems.

When we leave the office together, leave school, or during school holidays, if we go out for any work, we cannot reach that destination on time. If the excess cars are removed from the road, the traffic jam in the city will decrease. There will be an opportunity to reach the destination on time. If such excess cars are removed through the government or legal system, the traffic jam will decrease. The number of accidents will decrease, and the environment will be beautiful.

What advice would you give to a visitor who is about to use the local transportation system in your community for the first time?
Since our Cox's Bazar city is a tourist city, thousands of tourists come to visit Cox's Bazar city and Cox's Bazar sea beach every year. So new passengers come here all the time. That's why they use these transports. I would recommend one thing to new visitors who are coming to visit, that is, they should use the cars carefully. Many drivers demand a lot of car rentals when they get new passengers.
Moreover, when they get new passengers, they drive very fast, and they are in a hurry to reach their destination quickly. Due to this, the chances of accidents are very high. I will tell you from my personal experience that the driver should look carefully and get into the car after bargaining properly. And the driver should be requested to drive the cars at very low or medium speed.

Then you yourself will be safe, and the families who go with you will also be safe. All in all, you will have a good time, and you will be able to enjoy it very nicely. Your car rental will be affordable, and you will be able to travel well.

In my town, Uber is what we mostly use, but it is kind of expensive. Buses seem to be more affordable in almost every city, but my problem with public buses is the it doesn't run fast
