Mutual cooperation as a sign of the return to active school days
Dear friends, admins, and all moderators of our beloved community. May we always be under His protection!
Gotong royong (mutual cooperation), or working together to clean the entire school yard, is a sign of the imminent arrival of the first school day. It has become a tradition and culture within the school environment. This activity has been going on since we were in school, and even our parents, especially the teachers, have done it.
Gotong royong (mutual cooperation) cleaning the school yard and preparing to welcome new students on the first day of school is a routine activity we usually do, even if it only lasts a few hours. Typically, on the first day of school after the end-of-year break, new students and students moving up a grade must still participate in the school environment introduction activities for the next few days.
The gotong royong activities we carried out several days before this Monday, the first day of school after the end-of-year break, included cleaning the school yard and preparing all kinds of decorations and attributes to introduce the school environment to the new students. One of them is installing a photo booth.
Another activity included putting up banners and decorating the school gates to welcome the new school year.
Several other teachers also worked on other tasks to welcome the new students on their first day, preparing various decorations and other makeshift paraphernalia for the new students to wear on their first day of school.
A few days earlier, several other teachers and I had also visited the school to welcome the handover of several chairs, desks, and tables for students and teachers. These facilities were provided with school funds for the needs of both teachers and students.
The mutual cooperation (gotong royong) activity, or the collaborative cleaning of the school yard, as well as preparations to welcome new students to our school, are positive actions that foster family values and cooperation among teachers within the school environment. Through these activities, it is hoped that every teacher and the entire school community will love and care for the school environment as their second home, a place where they share their knowledge and resources for survival.
