The Diary Game:How I Spent My Day Peeling Cassava(24 April 2026)
Today was one of those simple but productive days. I spent part of my time peeling cassava, and it reminded me how important this crop is in our daily life.
Peeling cassava is not as easy as it looks. First, I washed the cassava to remove the dirt. Then I used a knife to remove the thick brown back carefully. You have to be patient so you don’t waste the inside. After peeling, I washed it again to make sure it is clean.
Cassava is very useful. After peeling, it can be used to make garri, fufu, or even cassava flour. In my area, garri is the most common. We fry it and it becomes what we eat with soup or soak with water. Fufu is also popular, especially for swallowing with soup.
What I like about cassava is that it helps many families. It is affordable and can feed a lot of people. Even though peeling it can be stressful, the end result is always worth it.
Today taught me again that small daily activities like this are part of our survival and culture.
