Hi I'm Tamlin and this is my introduction to Steemit!

Hi there,

My  name is Tamlin and I'm so excited to be a "newbie" to this great  platform and hope to share some great content and stories, and also to  enjoy the same from this community!

I  live in sunny South Africa and am quite fortunate to live on a farm  with my family and extended family. I grew up along the coast, in town,  and after marrying my husband 10 years ago, we re-located a few years  ago back to our family farm which was a big adjustment for a city girl!  Needless to say, I adjusted pretty quickly and wouldn't trade being a  farm girl, although I haven't been converted quite as far as to be churning my own butter!

One  of the beauties of farm life are the huge open spaces, which is great  for my 8-year-old son who most certainly isn't a "townie" but rather a true farmer!

For the last 6 years I have worked for an online school and joined the company a couple of months after they launched. It has been a  roller-coaster ride with many ups and downs, mostly ups. I have assisted  in building online platforms and have had the pleasure of helping many  families in need of alternative schooling. Homeschooling is a pretty newish concept in South Africa, but is gaining momentum rapidly as our  schooling system here is not of a good standard. 

I  am passionate about making a difference in peoples lives, even in the  smallest way, and have a positive outlook on life in general.
