“For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” 1 Peter 3:12 (NKJV)
Read: 1 Peter 3:8-12
In continuation with Apostle Peter’s admonition on who wants or loves life and see good days: If you practice things shared in this teaching, according to the passage, you would get yourself endeared to God’s heart.

1 Peter 3:12 in continuation of the talk says: “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

God will honour the prayer of those who live their lives in line with His Word, or principles. God’s eyes will be on the righteous who lives in line with the Bible. And the ears of God will be opened to their prayers.

If you love life and want to see good days, then pay attention to any number of things shared in the passage. God’s listening ears are gotten through the practice of His word; the principles found in the Bible. However, the face of God is against those who do evil.

Those who do evil do not necessarily mean those who are committing terrible or heinous sins, but whoever is living contrary to the Word of God is a sinner. Even someone who is deceiving, the face of the Lord is against such a person. Telling lies, deceiving others, is evil in the sight of God. In fact, lying is one of the sins listed that would take people to hell (Revelation 21:8).

Some erroneously believe that lying is a minor sin and it does not matter in God’s sight; but they are really mistaken. A liar as well as a murderer and one who is committing other sins are said would be thrown into the lake of fire (Revelation 21:8).

Lie is as grievous as any other sin in the sight of God. No matter how minute you consider a sin is, if it is a sin, or whatever contrary to God’s Word or principle; such can sever your relationship or communion with God. Be circumspect and watchful! Peace.

Reflect:

  • Is there any dishonesty or deceit that you have been excusing in your life?
