I don't think it matters much if the US have missiles able to raech anywhere. If North Korea starts with war they will have Japan, China and Russia breathing down their necks. The Southern Koreans will also seize opportunity to get one up on the North. I think when shit hits the fan, the US doesn't have to do much really
...And do you think the North does not have allies too? In war, somebody always gains.
Maybe political friends, but none that will come to it's aid when they decide to start a nuclear war... can you think of a country that would?
