I absolutely positively love honey...!!
I used to have hives but the bears kept invading them. I gave up. I do have a friend that has honey bees and get my honey from her.
Bee Education is soooooo important 🐝....!!!!!!!!!!❤...❤..!!
I enjoy stopping by the local farmers market in my area.

You need the "HighZap" fence extenders to help keep the Bears out.

I tried using a solar electric fence for a couple of years. I don't think it gave them a strong enough zap. They went through it. I think the regular electric fence charges deliver a bigger ZAP. I only have solar power and that's pretty limited unless I can get a better system.

Ya a solar charger is not going to do anything to stop a bear even with the HiZap. I often check ours by just touching it. With insulating shoes on it's not much more zapy then what you get when you toung a 9v battery. For a goat, dog, cyoet tho, on a wet nose with damp feet, BAM! that ZAP would make your eyes cross.
It amazing the zap can make our eyes cross and it seems nothing to the bears. I guess getting to the honey is worth a little discomfort to them...🙂🤦♀️🤷♀️

I use a solar charger for the goats and it works to keep them in most of the time, but I've never tried to keep a bear out. Maybe a moat with a drawbridge? :)
