That's about normal price for local hand "made" honey in our area. I sold my honey last year at $15 for a 20oz pint or $30 for a 40oz quart. I sold it at a $3 premium over the other vendors, I got lots of "hmm, thats expens... er, I'll take two. Do you sell gallons?" and I sold out at that price!

Expensive? Yes, when compared to store bought honey.
Expensive? No, when you factor in the cost of production, $15/pint is below cost.
Expensive? Not at all, when you factor in taste, quality, enjoyment, all natural, local, "hand" made, organic, health benefits. $15 for a few months supply is cheap.

People are too fixated on supermarket pricing for food stuffs. Try to grow your own organic garden, then tell me that your Organic Tomatoes are not worth $5ea. It's hard work and the little people don't get government subsidies.

Even at $15 a pint hand "made" honey is NOT profitable if you take everything into account. I do it for my own enjoyment and Honey makes excellent gifts. My honey (I'm not bragging, I didn'tmake it, I just put it in jars) is the best I have ever tasted.
