"EMEKA"- husband to Amara A conductor, Mr.clements inlaw and A friend to Daniel .

"AMARA"-wife to Emeka, Mr and Mrs Clements daughter. And sister to Obina.

"Mr and Mrs Clemen"-Amara and Obina's parents Emeka's in law .

"OBINA"- Mr and Mrs Clements son, in-law to Emeka and brother to Amara "DANIEL" - childhood friend of Emeka.

FADE IN

I'm saving money, i want to buy a new bus

Mr. Clement laugh

With the money you make as a conductor?

Amka's older brother Obina smirk.

Daddy leave him may be the bus will fall from heaven Joseph the dreamer he whispered

Every one present laughed except for Amara.

Enough! Amara shouted.

Mr. Clement becomes came serious.

Amara I don't blame you, after all the warnings you still went ahead and settled for less a man that has nothing, he can't even take care of you.

Because he doesn't have anything today, that doesn't mean he will not have tomorrow.

Emeka lowered his head.

Sir i may be poor today, but I won't remain poor forever.

He leaves with Amara.

Months passes.

Emeka work under the hot sun he count his small earnings every night, he saves some money in the metal box, he refuse to spend recklessly, he help passenger carry their luggages and earns extra money,
He also learned how to repair buses and start taking driving lessons.

One evening Emeka was sitting alone at the bus stop when a neat SUV drove pass him he admired the vehicle and watch as it comes to a stop A man walked out from the car

And looked at him

They stare at each other.

EMEKA!

EMEKA stands.

......Daniel?

The man smiles.

The hug tightly

where have you been all these year.

My Dad was promoted back then so we had to move i later traveled out to further my studies

Daniel looked at Emeka still in disbelief.

What are you doing here and why are you dressed like this he asked.

I work here as a conductor Emeka replied bowing his head.

You've been doing this all this time?

Emeka smiles.

It's honest work.

Daniel nods

can we go somewhere and talk, he said as he directed emeka towards his car

This your car is fine o! What do you do,

Actually i own and run a transport company,

Emeka looks surprised.

I'm currently looking for someone, i can trust to manage and operate here in lagos.

That's why i came to Lagos.

I would have loved to apply by i don't have any degree or credentials.

With or without degree you are the man for the job, I've known you ever since to be hardworking and to top it all your a good man with a good heart, my mind would never be at peace if i don't give you this job.

Emeka couldn't contain his joy he rushed home that night and told his wife they both danced and sing with happiness.

Daniel gave Emeka gave emeka a chance

Emeka started from the bottom, managing busses and drivers.

He worked harder than everyone.

He was also good with recording Which help him exposing 2 drivers that where stealing from Daniel.

He also applied his mechanic skills anytime a bus break down.

He also take down customers complaints each day and handed them to Daniel.

Daniel was so impressed and was fascinated by his growth daily.

Years pass.

A large sign reads

EMEKA'S TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS.

Several modern buses are parked outside. Emeka step out from a clean BLACK SUV wearing a well tailor senator.

Amara walks beside him. She looks at the building in disbelief.

you actually did it.

Emeka smiled.

No, we did it.

Mr. Clement is sitting outside when an SUV drove into his compound he stood up to see who was driving, Emeka exited the vehicle with Amara, Mr.Clement couldn't move an inch from where he was standing, he was shock and surprised at the same time, the atmosphere became silent

Mr.Clement look at the expensive watch on Emeka's wrist.

Emek....

Emeka smile politely.

Good evening sir.

Mr.Clement was still speechless Then amara called him

Dad is everything alright.

Mr.Clement stare at amara

Mr.Clement finally managed to talk

.....Emeka I'm sorry,

I judge you because you were poor, i thought being a conductor meant you had no future.

He paused.

I was wrong.

Emeka nods.

sir i don't hold anything against you,

He said as he moved closer and embrace him.

Obina approach with awkwardly.

I'm sorry my brother......i was wrong to i under estimated you.

Emeka laugh.

Don't worry don't just ask me for free bus. Every one laughs.

Emeka and Daniel stood at the same bus stop the reunited years earlier

A bus pull up. A young conductor jumped out shouting destination.

Emeka watches.

Remember when i met you here

I remember.

you were still shouting OSHODI!,OSHODI!, OSHODI! one passenger remaining, hold your change

The both laughed.

Daniel looked at him seriously

Do you know what change your life.

Emeka thinks

Hard work

Daniel shakes his head.

you never stopped believing in your self.

Emeka look towards the busy road.

And i was lucky to have people who believe in me.

He looked at Daniel

And a woman who never gave up on me she stood by me advice me and always believes in me

Across the street. Amara wait for him

Emeka walk towards her

He takes he hand.

The Camera pull away as busses move through the street of lagos.

People may laugh at where you start
the way you dress, your job and your financial status but never let someone's opinion become your limit, always dream and aim high no matter the situations you fine your self in

A MAN IS NOT DEFINED BY WHERE HE BEGINS BUT BY HOW HARD HE FIGHTS TO REACH WHERE HE IS GOING

I'm not that great at writing but I'm good at reading and my writing is not that perfect or great but i believe i tried, because I'm new, I can say this movie would have gone for an award though it won't come first but I'm sure it would have made the list of those going up for vote.
