My Community and the Common Occupations in My Hometown

Hello everybody! Today I would like to create a short post concerning my hometown and occupations that are performed by people there for earning money.

About My Hometown
My hometown is Hinthada. It is located in the Ayeyarwady Region of Myanmar. Hinthada is near a river. The soil in Hinthada is really good for growing things. People, in Hinthada live lives. They do things like farm the land buy and sell things in the market or make things with their hands. The people of Hinthada like to live lives in Hinthada.

Occupations That Are Popular in My Hometown
There are two main occupations that people perform in our hometown:

1. Creation of Clay Pottery and Traditional Crafts
   Since we are located close to the riverbank, the craftsmen have no problems collecting the clay. The clay is used for making pots for cooking, huge jars for storing water and some other traditional crafts. Clay molding and baking on wood fires is very difficult process. This process is usually done by whole families in small home workshops.

2. Local Market and River Trading
   Another occupation that is popular in our region is trading. Because of our location many local traders buy different vegetables, fruits and fishes from farmers and deliver them to other cities by boat and trucks. The market is very busy every day since there is an active buying and selling process of fresh food products.

Living within such a community has taught me a great deal about perseverance. I deeply admire the local artisans who transform simple earth into useful vessels and beautiful decorative objects, as these crafts sustain both our livelihoods and the very existence of our town.

The life of my home town is mainly related to agriculture, trade and local handicraft. I am happy to have the opportunity to talk about the lifestyle in my hometown today.
