SLC33-W1: My Community, My Story – A Need to Know Place Around Me

I am pleased to publish the first week of the My Community, My Story challenge, which is currently underway as part of Season 33 of the Steemit engagement challenge. For this week, we want you to talk about A Need to Know Place Around Me.

Every community, whether developed or undeveloped, has places that are important to its people and visitors also. These may be attractive or unattractive places like tourist attractions, roads, historical landmarks, markets, hospitals, schools, parks, religious centers or any location in your community that plays a significant role in everyday life.

Whatever place you have chosen to share on the Steemit platform, we want you to share with us the story, importance, why the place needs to be known, and your personal experience about the place, so others can know what makes the place worth visiting.

What you need to do for this week's challenge is to share an attractive or unattractive place, like the places being introduced earlier, and honestly write about the place with the original photos you have taken from different angles.

What to Explain

1. What is the name of the place, community, and where is it located? Share the address information of the place also.

2. Why do you think this place you have visited is a need-to-know place in your community?

3. What services or activities are the people in your community or visitors enjoying or having access to at the place?

4. What do you find most attractive or interesting during your visit to the place?

5. Share a brief story that you know about the place you have visited.

6. Based on your story and community lifestyle, would you recommend this place to visitors? Why or why not?

Rules and criteria:

• The title of your post should be: SLC33-W1: My Community, My Story – A Need to Know Place Around Me

• You can make the post on your blog or in any community.

• Use your own original photos, or else you will be disqualified

• Plagiarism and the use of AI are prohibited. The post must contain a minimum of 300 words.

• You can add a video with a minimum duration of 30 seconds.

• You must add a picture of yourself or a means of identification at place.

• Provide details that you know about the place. like: (Address, Google map link, Google Plus code, and Steematlas link),

• Invite at least three friends to participate.

• Leave the link to your post in the comments section, and don't forget to vote and resteem this post.

• Any language is accepted.

• Promote your post on social media platforms like X.

• This contest will run for 7 days, from 13th July 2026 to 19th July 2026, and will end on Sunday at exactly 11:59 PM (Nigeria Time, WAT / 22:59 UTC).

• Make sure to use the hashtags: #mycommunitymystorywk1s33 #steemexclusive, #slc33, #steem-atlas, #steemvideo and your country's hashtag. (for example, #nigeria )

In my judging, I will focus on how well you explain your shopping experience, storytelling, based on your photos, items purchased, proof of purchase, store information, how well your post is organised, and a lot more will be put into consideration.
