SLC33-W1: My Community, My Story – A Need to Know Place Around Me
Dear friends, I hope you are all well. I am also, Alhamdulillah, doing very well by the countless mercy of Allah. A wonderful contest is being organized, and now the First week of this contest is underway. It is a nice contest for My Community, My Story. Zinia has organized it; she is @josepha. You are running this contest very skillfully. Let's answer her questions.
01, What is the name of the place, community, and where is it located? Share the address information of the place also.
Its location is Bagerhat, situated in the southern part of Bangladesh. The name of a very important community place for the Muslim community here is the mosque. This is a mosque that is extremely important for both the community and tourists. It is a mosque that has been recognized as a historical mosque and a historical monument. The name of this mosque is Singair Mosque.

Where is it located? In Bagerhat district, in the southern region of Bangladesh. Although this district is small, it has quite a few historical sites. Among them, the most historical is the mosque. So, in answer to this question, I have shared with you the location of this mosque. From anywhere, if you come to the district and mention this name, you can reach this mosque in just 10 minutes from the town.
02 Why do you think this place you have visited is a need-to-know place in your community?
When talking about my personal community, I will definitely speak the truth and honestly. I will talk about the most important life guideline of my community, the Quran. There, my Creator has commanded that the most important act of worship is performing the five daily prayers. You have to come to the mosque five times a day and perform worship here, following the Creator's instructions.

This is a duty for every Muslim. Brother, the most important answer to this question is this. After that, many other things can also be important for the community. For example, you can come here anytime to worship. Tourists can come here, take beautiful pictures, and also perform deeds and worship. So I think this is important for the community.
03 What services or activities are the people in your community or visitors enjoying or having access to at the place?
This is a very important question: no community would go somewhere if there is no benefit. Allah Ta'ala, our Creator, has made this place so honorable that visiting it is extremely important for every Muslim. But what is the benefit for people? What will that community gain by going here, and what are they getting? If I highlight a few points for you, I would say: The services that the community is receiving are as follows:
- Free access to pray the five daily prayers.
- Free permission to enter here at any time.
- Water arrangements for the community.
- Arrangements for the community to listen to Allah’s religious teachings.
- Opportunities for the community to hold sessions for good and bad advice.
- Beautiful accommodation arrangements for the community.
- Job opportunities for some of the underprivileged people in the community.

04 What do you find most attractive or interesting during your visit to the place?
Every part of the place and the building constructed for the community feels interesting to me. But the main reason it stands out for me is that it's quite an old mosque. It was built in 1975, which is about 50 years ago. Buildings from that time have a style that is really nice to look at now and are recognized as historical. The architecture and buildings from that era are attractive to present-day tourists. That's what I found interesting about the mosque.

05 Share a brief story that you know about the place you have visited.
I will share a story I know in response to this question, and it is certainly real and instructive. I will tell the story of the person who founded this mosque. It's about the story of building this mosque, bringing it here, and establishing it. And it is a real story, also heard from people's accounts
- At that time, one of the greatest scholars and learned people in India was Khan Jahan Ali. From India, he came to invite people to Islam in what is now the central area of Bagerhat, Bangladesh, often called Islamabad at that time. Officially, he carried out his duties there. His sole purpose was to invite everyone to the path of Islam and to build mosques for the Islamic community in every area and neighborhood. During that time, he constructed many mosques in Bagerhat. The largest among them is the Sixty Dome Mosque. Besides that, there are many smaller mosques, and among them, this Singair Mosque is also very historic and significant. That is the story behind the construction of this mosque, After that, he completed the construction of the mosque in 1975 and tried for 10 years to get it officially recognized by the government. Later, in 1985, he officially appointed it , which is both real and meaningful.

06 Based on your story and community lifestyle, would you recommend this place to visitors? Why or why not?
I think it’s very important for every person to see every architecture, every historical site, and every piece of history around the world. The reason is that there’s so much to learn from these places. Personally, I always want to see the many natural and man-made creations in this world made by the Creator, because it’s very important to me. In the same way, I always try to travel and see these things.

Similarly, I would definitely encourage my beloved fellow travelers to come here. And when you come, I want to show how Khan Jahan Ali made efforts to build this mosque here. He did good work. With everyone’s love, prayers, and blessings, he can rest in peace even in his grave. This is a lesson for us, and seeing it is very important.
